Get a reservation at Dorsia!

Patrick Bateman had many things, including Alan Flusser suits, Paco Rabanne products and homicidal tendencies. But unlike his colleague Paul Allen, one thing the

American Psycho protagonist could never get was a reservation at fictional restaurant Dorsia. In the film, this led to an unfortunate incident involving Allen, a translucent raincoat and an axe, to the tune of “Hip To Be Square” by Huey Lewis and the News: “Try getting a reservation at Dorsia now, you fing stupid b****!” (In the book Bateman is actually taken there for lunch by his younger brother Sean, who knows the owner, in an effortless display of fraternal one-upmanship.)

Now you can go one better than Bateman by dining at a restaurant of the same name in London’s Kensington, which will also include a member’s club and bar. Formerly Firehouse, it has been revamped and rebranded by a team whose collective experience includes the Sanderson, Boujis and Amika. No word yet on whether it will be serving the “sea urchin ceviche” but we’re pretty sure that the maître d’ will at least have the courtesy not to laugh at you when you ring up for a table at short notice.

Open on 25 May. 3 Cromwell Road, London SW7 2HR. thedorsia.co.uk

*UPDATE: They will be serving the ceviche.
