Can’t Get Out to Grocery? I Explored Amazon Fresh vs. Whole Foods Market – Between Carpools

If you never shopped for food on Amazon, here is a quick rundown of my experience and favorites on Amazon Fresh and Amazon’s Whole Foods Market.

So it began with me scrolling through Amazon for a product and being redirected to Whole Foods on the Amazon app. I began peeking around and saw a whole lot of other things I wanted to try… I have yet to climb out of that rabbit hole.

I live in Boro Park. We do not have Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods around here and unless my idea of fun is taking three trains to schlep four bags of food… here was a great way to explore the most fun products and get them delivered to my door. So what’s the difference between Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh?

Both are grocery storefronts on Amazon. For the most part, Amazon Fresh is often cheaper and carries many brand name products that are already familiar. Whole Foods Market was built for those who wanted organic products; the price point is sometimes higher. Personally, I find many more unique kosher products on Whole Foods Market but for fruits/veggies I can do a price check between the two. I find the flowers and produce of both, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods, last quite a bit longer than my standard grocery and the roses being $14.99 for a dozen that can last a week is a price that can’t be beat!

Amazon Fresh delivers to less locations than Whole Foods so check your address first, but delivery is free on orders over $50. Whole Foods charges a flat fee of $9.95 for delivery on orders of all sizes. Note that availability of items depends on what your local store has in stock, so some items might not be available near you.
