When is Prime Day?

Prime Day usually takes place around July each year, with the exception of 2020 when Covid understandably meant a shift to October instead of mid-Summer. 

Last year, Amazon went a little earlier than usual and launched on 21 and 22 June. For 2022 Prime Day will take place on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 July.

Prime Day starts a 00.01am BST on Tuesday and ends at 11.59pm BST on Wednesday 13 July. If you’re in the US, Prime Day kicks off at 00.01am PT on Tuesday and ends 11.59pm PT on Wednesday 13 July.

Do you need a Prime subscription?

If you want to take advantage of the best Prime Day turntable deals on Amazon, then yes you will need to get yourself an Amazon Prime account.

You could always sign up for a free trial for the event, take advantage of all the Prime Day perks and then cancel before you have to start paying the full subscription amount…

If you’ve already had a free trial, as of right now, a monthly Amazon Prime subscription (opens in new tab) will cost you just £7.99/$14.99 (which can be cancelled at any time) and a yearly option is £79/$139.
