2023 BMW G310RR Price, Specs, Top Speed & Mileage in India

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

BMW Motorrad India launched the very first BMW G310RR in India. The third and most recent member of the highly successful BMW 310 model series has arrived in India for the first time. BMW Motorrad India will introduce the all-new G310RR on July 15, 2022. And it is now the most affordable fully-faired motorcycle from this German manufacturer. The all-new BMW G310RR is the fourth product co-developed by TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad, following the TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G310R, and G310 GS. The BMW G310RR is based on the TVS Apache RR 310 and shares design elements, features, and even the powertrain with it.

BMW G310RR Design and Style

2023 BMW G310RR is already known to be related to the TVS Apache RR 310. However, the BMW G310RR has received a few cosmetic updates, including BMW-specific colours and graphics, bringing it more in line with BMW Motorrad models. The BMW G310RR retains the split headlamp setup at the front, as well as the similar fairing design. The bull horn-style LED elements in the taillights are also a direct carryover from the Apache 310. It also has a vertical 5-inch TFT instrument console, a redesigned operating system, and technology such as Bluetooth connectivity. It has the same BI-LED twin projector headlights as its TVS sibling, as well as the tail light, mirrors, golden USD forks, and windscreen. The livery and BMW badging, which are synonymous with larger BMW supersport motorcycles, are the most noticeable differences between the two motorcycles.

BMW G310RR Colour Options

With its road racing DNA, full fairing and RR branding/graphics, the new BMW G310RR’s aerodynamic design makes an extremely sporty appearance. Its uncompromising superbike design and motorsport colours distinguish it in the road-race segment.

The full fairing, intelligent dimensions, and lighter materials all contribute to the aerodynamic design, which provides agile and precise handling. The oncoming airflow is optimally utilised thanks to the Ram Air intake, and the gill vents ensure that hot air is channelled away from the engine. With full-LED headlights, a large transparent visor, and all-black handlebars, the bike has an aggressive and sharp appearance. The entire fly line is designed with the front wheel in mind. The dynamic front, tank-hugging seating position, and a pulled-up short rear emphasise the car’s proximity to the racetrack.

New high-end details like the standard gold upside-down fork, aluminium swingarm, control handlebars, and excellent craftsmanship reflect the best in the segment and highlight the stable wheel control with sensitive and precise feedback. The standard Michelin Pilot Street radial tyres fit the character perfectly, providing plenty of grip and control.

BMW G310RR Engine and Gearbox

The new BMW G310RR is powered by a BS6-compliant 312.12cc Water-cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and cam followers, and wet sump lubrication. This motor produces 25 kW (34 PS) of power at 9,700 rpm in Track/Sport mode, 19 kW (25.8 HP) at 7,700 rpm in Rain/Urban mode, and 25 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm in Rain/Urban mode. The engine is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox integrated into the crankcase, as well as a ride-by-wire throttle and an assist and slipper clutch. The BMW G310RR has four riding modes: Sport, Track, Rain, and Urban, with Rain and Urban mode lowering power and torque output.

For precise shifts and launches, the 6-speed gearbox allows for easy gear engagement and no slippage at higher speeds. The race-tuned anti-hopping clutch with self-reinforcement reduces engine braking and increases riding safety significantly, particularly during braking manoeuvres with simultaneous downshifts. It also provides less operating force at the clutch lever.

The 310 RR comes standard with four modes for optimal adaptation to changing conditions: Track, Urban, Rain, and Sport. The Track mode focuses on acceleration and braking, with the ABS set for late braking into bends. Because the ABS and throttle response are tuned for urban traffic, the acceleration and braking behaviour are balanced. Sport mode provides the best acceleration and deceleration values possible – with sporty dynamics. A rain mode is combined with Ride by Wire, and the ABS responds very quickly to ensure riding safety and stability control on wet roads.

The Ride by Wire system, in conjunction with E-Gas, directs commands from a sensor on the twist grip to the engine control system, resulting in finer control and throttle response. Because of the electromotive throttle controller, the automatic idle speed increase when starting also prevents the engine from stalling unexpectedly.

BMW G310RR Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

The suspension is supported by a torsionally stiff, highly robust tubular steel frame with a bolt-on rear frame. The front wheel suspension is handled by a solid upside-down fork, while the rear wheel suspension is handled by an aluminium swinging arm in conjunction with a directly mounted spring strut. The suspension geometry is intended to provide easy handling, stability, and a neutral cornering response, resulting in an active riding character and maximum riding enjoyment.

2023 G310RR is outfitted with 17-inch Cast aluminium wheels with 110/70 R-17 front and 150/60 R-17 rear tyre sections from BMW. Braking is handled by a single disc, 300mm, 4-piston fixed calliper that is radially bolted at the front and a single disc, 240mm, single-piston floating calliper that is radially bolted at the rear, as well as BMW Motorrad ABS.

The high-performance braking system, which includes a 2-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), provides efficient deceleration and short braking distances. BMW Motorrad ABS prevents wheel lockup, and rear wheel lift-off protection keeps the race bike’s wheels on the track even when braking late into corners.

Instrument Console of BMW G310RR

The new multifunctional 5-inch TFT display offers a high level of functionality that is synonymous with fast riding. Its user-friendly framework, high-resolution graphics, and clear graphics provide the rider with all necessary information in an easy-to-understand format. It displays important information such as riding statistics, riding modes, maximum speed, deceleration, temperature, and so on. The Infotainment Control Switch provides flawless functionality for changing modes or views. The TFT display also customises the screen with relevant information based on the riding mode.

Key Features of BMW G310RR

2023 BMW G310RR has a gold upside-down front fork, handlebars with operating elements to quickly switch between riding modes and a display screen. LED headlight for maximum visibility whether in the city, on winding country roads, or on the race track. Two-way ABS, race-tested aluminium swinging arm, standard Michelin Pilot Street tyres, agile G310RR centrepiece controlled by electromotive throttle controller Ride by Wire for quick and precise throttle response, a 5-inch Sharp TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and four riding modes are all standard.
