April 21, 2023 – The commander of U.S. Southern Command, Army Gen. Laura Richardson, visited Argentina and Chile April 16-21 and met with leaders from both nations to discuss security cooperation.

April 6, 2023 – The crew of USS Farragut (DDG 99) offloaded approximately 2,314 kilograms of cocaine and 1,986 pounds of marijuana worth a combined $69 million in Port Everglades, Florida Tuesday. The suspected smugglers will face prosecution in federal court by the Department of Justice.

Laura Richardson, commander of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), as well as other senior command and Department of Defense officials.

Coast Guard crew offloads $166 million worth of narcotics in San Diego

March 31, 2023 – The Coast Guard Cutter Waesche (WMSL 751) crew offloaded more than 6,325 pounds of cocaine and more than 13,220 pounds of marijuana worth more than $166 million, Wednesday, in San Diego.
