Student
Juan, my classmate, is helping me to go through my HND costume for stage & screen course. I was the one person in my class with no experience of using sewing machine when I started the course. Juan explained and showed me how to do things when I was stuck. Juan is very supportive and offered me to contact him anytime I needed help for the course work. Juan was not just waiting until I asked, he texted me to check if I was up-to-date with projects and encouraged me when I was struggling. You are doing great, not long to go, do not give up etc, was the type of encouragement Juan gave me. I really appreciate Juan’s kindness, his approachability and his knowledge. I would not finish the course if I did not get his unlimited and un-selfish support. A BIG THANK YOU JUAN!

It was super hard to come back to College after so long, and for a wee while I felt a bit distanced from the class, just due to the age difference. But Lucy was one of the first people in the class to start talking to me, and has continued to be a fantastically funny and fair classmate and friend.

I really enjoyed and still enjoying your lecturing as it is still on going, thank you once again for your effort and all the help provided up until now! Really appreciate and hope to have you as a lecturer in the upcoming year!

Aileen has always made time for me and with me being dyslexic she’s always made sure I understood what was being taught and would sit down with me and answer any questions that I had. Aileen has always made me feel supported and made my time at Edinburgh College a lot more relaxed. She would always make time to chat to me if I was struggling and it made such a difference. I will forever be grateful for everything she has done for me 🙂
Ainslie Nimmo
Ainslie has done an excellent job at mapping out the main counselling theories for us, in a way that was easy to understand, full of personal insights, and a pleasure to engage with.
Ainslie’s feedback has always been very helpful and encouraging. On a personal level, he has been approachable, easy to talk to, and his classes were always fun to come to.
He has gone above and beyond to help us understand our assignments and what is required to be successful.
For me, Ainslie has been instrumental in turning my interest in counselling into a full-blown fascination.
Thank you Ainslie!
Ainslie Nimmo
He is kind, supportive & understanding. Explains things clearly. Very approachable
Ainslie Nimmo
Ainsle has been an amazing lecturer and helped me learn so much during my introduction to counselling course and level 6 theory for Practice, he is always approachble and will do anything to help his students
Ainslie Nimmo
As someone who struggles with anxiety and other forms of mental health issues, Ainslie is one of the few teachers/lecturers I am comfortable with and since being back at college after a lot of years of being out of education, he has been very helpful and encouraging in my journey to eventually take on higher qualifications. He is very patient, kind, caring and understanding and has been a part of my positive experience in the two courses I have taken over the last 8-9 months roughly (Introduction to Counselling and Counselling Theory for Practice). I find it difficult to speak out in front of large numbers of people and with his help and encouragement it’s becoming a little easier and not as scary. I came into the course not knowing a thing about harvard referencing and now I am much better at it than I was when I first started because of the time he has put in to help me understand and the patience he had with me, I’m rather simple minded so I can be a bit slow to understand, so I really appreciated his patience.
Ainslie Nimmo
I’m Nominating Ainslie because he is an amazing lecturer, I have really enjoyed attending his classes this past term. He always goes to the extra mile for his students and is more than happy to offer help and support when needed.
Alan Brown
Lecturer
Thank you for being such an encouraging teacher and work hard for our learning.
I want to say thank very much to for your precious help.
Alan Holligan
Alan is one of the most supportive, understanding and highly influential lecturer I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of being taught by. A true asset to Edinburgh College who has been responsible for so many successful careers. I wouldn’t be the student and artist I am today without the guidance and patience of the whole art department. This nomination is only a small token that could never really show my full gratitude.
Alan Holligan
This is the first year I’ve been taught by Alan but at every turn he has gone above and beyond for all staff and students both current and past. The course has genuinely changed my life, and I’m not alone. His passion, dedication and work ethic are so clear. The reason I’m nominating him in particular is the role he has played as a lecture, and within the wider college as a union rep. At every turn putting his words of wisdom into practice, working selflessly to protect and support the people who really need it. For a lot of us he’s more than a lecturer he’s a father figure and a role model. He’s who I wanna be when I grow up. I cannot put into words the impact he’s had on me and so many others, it’s a priveldge to be taught by him. And I believe he exemplifies what it means to be a lecturer.
Alan MacCorquodale
Lecturer
He makes learning interesting! He is funny and a cool guy!
Alan McCredie

Kerry is an awesome teacher and a great role model. It’s a shame there aren’t more female instructors like Kerry in automotive engineering. I don’t think there is anything she doesn’t know about cars. Thank you, Kerry for all your help. I’ve learnt so much from you over the past few years!
Alexandra Pereira
Your relatability, warmth and compassion are what all staff should emulate.

Thank you for all your support during my studies, not only about College but also mental support that helped me to stay relaxed, motivated and improving my well-being. Thank you
Martin has been my manager while I’ve been completing my work placement as Campus Cycling Officer. Throughout my time at the college, Martin has been a great support and I have enjoyed my time at the college. I have gained a lot of experience and new skills along the way. As a mentor, Martin has helped me with all sorts of tasks from project planning, and admin to arranging events and putting up signs. In October last year, I had an accident and had to take a couple of months off work. During this time I kept in touch and it was really important to have maintained that contact when I returned. Around this time I finished an assessment for ADHD. I was worried about telling anyone and asking for some adjustments but it all went well and I feel very supported. It’s been a learning curve for both of us and I want to thank Martin for the thoughtful approach taken.
Alicja Wierzbowska-Kraska
I am glad that I can take this opportunity to say thank you to Richie. He is a good listener, he is understanding, helpful and he was always ‘go to’ person whenever I had questions subject related, or health problems and personal struggles that affected my performance in college. He was always kind and respectful. He is a good teacher who understands that individual approach is only way to be to be able to teach well. That all, is very much appreciated.
Alison Galt

Alison was so helpful when I needed to borrow resources from the college, a friendly voice over the phone makes all the difference sometimes, thank you Alison!

Amanda Muir
She was diligent in doing her job, and was very helpful and was always willing to go that extra mile, even if she had to repeat herself a million times for you to understand. She was a lecturer that had loads of experience in her units and using those personal experiences made understanding easy and to drive home the point.
Amber Graham
Mike has taught me for 3 years in the social sciences department. My first year was during lockdown and my favourite lesson he ever done was when Sarah everard was murdered he took a whole lesson out to highlight how dangerous being a woman is. For me this was also the year I started to educate myself of feminism and seeing the inequities women face. I don’t have a lot of positive role models so for Mike to do this and during the lesson educate the boys in the class and identify his own guilt to ways he wish he had done differently when he was younger meant so much to me and is still a lesson I talk about anytime I can. This year he has been very supportive and with everything going on for the staff within the college he has been a total role model for standing up for what you believe in!
Ami Dixon
Her positivity, compassion and dedication is unmatched.
Amy Thomson
She has made me understand subjects so much better, making me more positive and confident in passing

I want to say thank you to George for inspiring me to continue in the this field because he is so genuinely interested in the subject which made the learning very easy because he wouldn’t just teach the bare minimum but also all the extra tricks that we can use. He also not only organised extra activities in his own time for us to do but provides us with resources that we can look into for fun/extra learning. He’s also been really funny and generally quite chill all year making the whole experience just really fun.
Angela Logan
Angela is an amazing person and has helped me gain more confidence
Angela Macintosh
Scott has been enthusiastic and inspirational as a lecturer for our class. He has also gone over and above and taken the time to detail his own journey as part of our LDT sessions. This was really beneficial. His positive attitude and high energy is a breath of fresh air. He loves lecturing and a result we love learning what he is lecturing about.
Angie Thomson
Lecturer
Angie gave me a reference for university and I got offered a place, this is something I have wanted to do for nearly 17 years! Angie has also offered support sessions for students to get help on their graded unit even although she has had lots of marking and teaching to deliver. These sessions really helped me get to grips with my project, thank you so much!
Angie Thomson
Lecturer
I want to say thank you for all your effort in teaching during these difficult time. I want to say thank you for the strategies you’ve used while teaching that helped me to get a deeper and better understanding of what I was studying. I want to say thank you for all your time outside College hours that you offered when I was to write my most important piece of work. You are a good lecturer that motivated and valued every student regardless of their abilities and always tried to get the most of us. Thank you
Angie Thomson
You have really helped all your students understand the course in a way that makes sense to us all.
If it wasn’t for Angie I know most us wouldn’t be where we are today. During my two years at college Angie and helped me grow and develop as a practitioner and encouraged me to go out with my comfort zone & challenge myself with things I thought I’d never be able to do.

Rik was a fab lecturer for PDA Data Science – Women in Data & Digital Innovation QY1PWDIC22-P1XA. Knowledgable in the course content, providing great learning resources & tutoring material, switched on and always on hand with support, quick to respond to enquiries from students, providing extra curricular content to widen the horizon and adding practical examples. So in all aspects going the extra mile for his students and most importantly being an open, friendly, approachable and very positive person. It was a joy to be taught by him in this PDA course. He always finds time for anyone who has questions or needs help.
Annabella Alovatti
– Great lecturer. She has made me love her subject as well as being an excellent lecturer, with sensible explanations and a natural flow that made me not only understand but enjoy her subject.
– As a tutor this year she was really helpful and understanding of not only my but other classmates situations. She took a lot of time and care to make sure we all knew what was expected of us and what we needed to do to succeed in college as well as how to continue in in further education. She gave us numerous support for ucas applications and for our personal statements.
Is thanks to lectures like her that education becomes something people want to continue or re-start.
Anne Coyle
Lecturer
Great lecturer, very patient and supportive.
Anne Marie Sturrock
Head of Faculty
We would like to thank Anne-Marie for a few different reasons, firstly for herself and her team’s constant work around ensuring students were able to go ahead with their work placements this year. We have seen up close the sheer amount of work needed to make this happen. Secondly, I would like to thank Anne-Marie for taking the time out this year to come along to events where students could ask questions about how the remainder of their courses would be delivered. I know this relieved the pressure off many of my fellow students, just by hearing a more in depth explanation of why certain aspects were out of the college’s control. You can’t fix everything, but talking to us helps a lot.
Anne Patrick
Lecturer
You’ve been an amazing help over this last year and we would have been lost without you Thank you so much!!

David Burgoyne
Lecturer
David has been an excellent online lecturer. He didn’t just read from a powerpoint and give us the basics of what we needed to know. He gave us a fuller understanding of his subjects so we’d be better prepared for the future. He went over and above what was necessary to aid our understanding as a whole, as opposed to helping us pass an exam. His delivery is spot on and engaging and I don’t know if he gets anything for this but he should, because he is far and away the best lecturer I’ve ever had and I hope to goodness I have him for as many subjects as possible next year. I feel this so strongly that I’ll be suggesting to the other students on my course to do the same, because I know they’ll agree.
David Burgoyne

You have helped us through everything and sat and explained it thoroughly so we understand everything like you did last year. I would say you are the best teacher in the college by far

David Burgoyne

I want to say thank you because the past year has been difficult and new due to COVID, but you have still gone out of your way to make sure that each lesson is educational yet enjoyable. Your teaching style is one of the best in my opinions. I love that you don’t teach us through PowerPoints but instead write everything out and draw diagrams to explain questions. You even show us where formulas are derived from, which a lot of lectures don’t do. Topics or questions that are complicated are no longer hard because you explain things so well. Being a teacher means so much more than giving out work. It means truly caring for your students, and you show that you care. I think it’s rare to find a teacher who puts so much effort into their lessons and into each and every one of their students, and the fact that you care about your students and want them to do well shows when you’re teaching us. You work so hard to help guide us in the right direction and to make sure that we understand the material. I know I don’t speak much during your lessons, but I do appreciate them. I find the little jokes that you make during class hilarious. Trust me I am laughing behind the laptop. During the thermofluids exam I was really anxious, and I don’t think you realised you had your mic on and you started to sing. It really cheered me up, made me a tad less stressed. As a student, many teachers and educators will come and go without remembrance, but there a special few who will leave a lasting impression- thank you David for being such an incredible lecturer. I am grateful to have been taught by such an awesome person.
David Cochrane

Nicky is the most supportive understanding, passionate patient lecture. She has never given up on me when most people would have. I am severely dyslexic so it takes me longer to learn things. Nikki takes the time in the morning on a Thursday to help anyone with extra cutting or colouring knowledge, she has even stayed back late with me before to organise my folder as I struggle to organise and read it I always feel safe and not judged to ask Nicky any silly questions as I know she is there to help I came to college as a young teenager in a jet placement and I had Nicky in my class. I could’ve went to beauty, but I decided to come to hairdressing as Nicky inspired me and told me I would be good at it. Which is what I needed. At the time I was 15 I needed someone to believe in me. And I’m 19 now and learn so much I will definitely miss her when I leave. With my level three 🥰 (PS the fact that I have even written this book, says a lot. LoL good old spell check )🤭

She was diligent in doing her job, and was very helpful and was always willing to go that extra mile, even if she had to repeat herself a million times for you to understand. She was a lecturer that had loads of experience in her units and using those personal experiences made understanding easy and to drive home the point.

He even helped explain a portion of my school computing course when i didn’t understand the process and working of a piece of code to connect a php site to a database!
George Mason
I had the misfortune of taking a course with George this year. He was very smart about the subject and always ready for the lectures. He also had a special way of teaching that made the class very boring and confusing.
Overall, I learned nothing from George, but I also felt angry and depressed by his demands and behavior. I would not recommend taking his course unless you are a masochist or a sycophant. He is a great scholar, but a horrible human being.
George Mason
I want to say thank you to George for inspiring me to continue in the this field because he is so genuinely interested in the subject which made the learning very easy because he wouldn’t just teach the bare minimum but also all the extra tricks that we can use. He also not only organised extra activities in his own time for us to do but provides us with resources that we can look into for fun/extra learning. Jennie has helped and supported me a huge amount over the two courses I have been a part of at Edinburgh college – UAL Level 2 and CAP. As someone who has had a lot of issues with education it isn’t always easy to engage in learning but it is people like Jennie who bring out the best in their students.
Although I am nominating Jennie I want to acknowledge that I have learned so much from all the lecturers on Contemporary Art Practice including Colette Woods and Alan Holligan. Their hard work and passion is inspiring, if I could nominate all of them then I would. :•)

Jess has made the lives of every single student on the BMus course so much easier over what has been a difficult year. She responds to emails and messages very quickly, goes above and beyond to provide us with resources, hosts several weekly drop-in sessions in case we need her help with anything and genuinely cares about us all, always asking us how we’re doing and what we’ve been up to. I don’t think I’d have made it to the end of the year without her.
Jess Abrams

Jess was incredibly understanding of how difficult this year has been for students. Through all the courses I’ve taken at Edinburgh College, I’ve always struggled with the Business classes and felt very underconfident with my work, but this year I found it so much easier thanks to her patience and efforts at helping me understand everything required. On top of all of this, her efforts in the first few weeks to get all students to properly “meet” each other through breakout rooms and icebreakers definitely brought some normality back.
Thank you Jess.

Joshua Newton
I had the misfortune of taking a course with George this year. He was very smart about the subject and always ready for the lectures. He also had a special way of teaching that made the class very boring and confusing.
Overall, I learned nothing from George, but I also felt angry and depressed by his demands and behavior. I would not recommend taking his course unless you are a masochist or a sycophant. He is a great scholar, but a horrible human being.
Josie Rigby
He is approachable and kind, his classes are engaging and he respects the students.
Judith Gardner Jones

Julia May Ladbrook
Raymond is a legend. He’s a cool guy and amazing at his job. His teaching style is clear, easy to understand and straight to the point while having a joke and laugh. He believes in hands on learning and stands back to let students use their own initiative. If you do need help with anything painting related (not necessarily to do with course work), he will take the time to explain or help in any way he can, even staying after class has finished for the day.
He’s chill, friendly and approachable but also straight up and genuine. Raymond is very understanding of people’s personal circumstances and has gone out of his way on many occasions to help me out, from sourcing materials I’ve needed to giving potential employers recommendations for me (even told one to give me a van because he knows I need one haha)
As a woman entering a male dominated environment, Raymond really helped make me feel not only welcome but more importantly capable. I can’t thank him enough for all his wisdom and the confidence he has inspired in me. Cheers Ray 😁

Katrina Hamilton-Smith
Lecturer
I would not have made it through this year without Katrina, her endless patience, understanding and her infectious positivity and enthusiasm which she has tried so hard (and I believe succeeded too!) in instilling in all of her students. Everything from being asked for extensions to constantly being flooded with questions about assignments, to speaking about personal issues, Katrina has been an absolute saint and she has always had time for me, even with her own busy family life/work schedule. It has not been easy being a student this year, much less a mature one and therefore the “odd one out”, but I believe that Katrina has always gone above and beyond to make sure that I, and every other one of her students have been cpping will everything that has been thrown at us as well as possible, both in and out of class.
Thanks, Katrina, and I think I speak for most of NC5 when I say that we have loved being your students.

Laura is a phenomenal lecturer,
she has given me a lot of support while I have attended college doing my NC level 6 in childcare, if it wasn’t for Laura being one of my lecturers then I wouldn’t have enjoyed the course as much as I have.
I am progressing onto my HNC and I hope and pray that Laura will be one of my lecturers again for the year coming.
Thank You Laura for being the lovely lady that you are.

She ensures every student has a grip of the subjects and gives over 100% commitment to supporting her students, even at weekends when she should be resting. I think without Kirsten’s support and experience I would never have been able to complete PDA level 8 as at times it has been extremely tough. But she kept us motivated and if I was struggling she’d break things down to explain what was expected in assessments. My mental health has on occasions not been at its best due to menopause and Kirsten gave me advice a suggestions on how to manage my studies to make it easier for me to get through. I cannot express how grateful and appreciative I am to have had such an amazing lecturer. Thank you Kirsten.x

Laura-Anne McEwan
Lecturer
Laura’s just been amazing this year. Finance is a challenging subject for me, but I felt like Laura understood me, and I was able to get through the unit without as much worry as I expected to have. It’s entirely due to her approach that I was able to get over my difficulty with numbers and make a far better job of things than I thought I would. When I was at school, I got a lot of hassle from teachers for the difficulty I had with numbers, so the fact that Laura was kind and calm made it easier to deal with them.
Lauren Bell

Lauren Ward
Her clear enthusiasm for biology makes her lecturers entertaining and enjoyable, I often find myself looking forward to each class. She answers any question without judgment and raises confidence.
Laurie Crump
Lecturer
I am nominating Laurie Crump in recognition in his ability to reassure, to give advice when needed and a sense of humbleness. This lecturer has conducted himself in a manner that students adore and love him for it. The qualities of this Lecturer is so so evident that not enough recognition is given. To further explain in detail why this is the case.
On many occasions expressing a problem or frustration about any given topic, Laurie has always been constructive, thoughtful and also kind. It is evident that he tries to help make a situation better or find other possible ways to make that happen.
To give one example research project is not an easy task it’s something that I found very time-consuming but very informative, however I found that I had to remediate for some of the outcomes because I had misunderstood or my ways of describing things did not make sense. Laurie took the time to explain in great detail and Made adaptations of the wording of the feedback he gave to me, this help me understand my work better. It takes one individual to understand how humans consume information or receive feedback and doing so in a variety of different ways. I recognise Laurie whether naturally or intentionally he made it a priority to make sure to explained things in different ways so the student can understand.
Moving on and excluding work-related and just general communication between Lecturer and student. Throughout this pandemic the college has been tipped upside down, Laurie who poses and represents the head Department of classical music I want to say thank you very much. At no stage did he express abnormal or frustration of the current climate we all live in. Laurie made the situation as comfortable as he could make it so we could all work together efficiently and also his conduct in class is so humble he is able to communicate with everyone regardless of who they are and I just want to say many thanks. The Words I have expressed today in this statement is a fraction of exactly how amazing he is, there is no words to describe how amazing and how humble he has been and for that reason I struggle to find extra words or extra sentences. This lecturer is a great asset to Edinburgh College. I want Edinburgh College To know that coming from a student he is an asset that you should take full pride in.
Lastly I want to say thank you very much for all that you do
Laurie Crump

I want to thank Linda for all her support. I was told that I wasn’t cut out to be a higher level student in the biology course by my previous teacher in Highschool, this caused me to perform badly and believe that I would never pass; however, since learning with Linda she has really made a difference. She has made something that I thought impossible possible and has been nothing but kind and supportive from from the very beginning. I used to hate attending classes, but thanks to Linda I am now enjoying every minute of it. Thank you!

Liz has been very approchable and supportive during the course. Especially, Liz made step-by-step videos for all costumes we should learn as we were not able to do face to face classes due to lockdown. It helped me a lot to get all projects done otherwise, I would never ever have been able to finish the course. I would like to say A big Thank You a million times to Liz. You are the real teacher!!! From Sun.
Liz Speirs
Liz Speirs has put in so much attention and dedication towards my class this year. She has went beyond just regular teaching and really made us all enjoy attending her class. She is sincere, thoughtful and always made sure we really understand the material for our subjects. Additionally, she has constantly encouraged us all to aim high and push ourselves to succeed not only in this course, but also in future universities as she was a present helping hand in not only applications for UCAS, but also writing personal statements. Because of this, i think it is due time this amazing lecturer finally receives her flowers.

Having come from Portugal, a completely different educational background, Liz has had the most impact in my academic skills and has allowed me to build my self confidence allowing me progress into my university journey without any doubts and anxiety.
Thank you for your support, Liz.
Liz Speirs

Michelle Caie
Lecturer
Michelle is such a kind lecturer. She’s really the best!
Mike Cowley

Nicky is an absolute credit, not only to Hair and Beauty but Edinburgh College as a whole. She is a fantastic lecturer, both in terms of the organisation and delivery of our modules and also in her impeccable communication and people skills. Without having had Nicky as a lecturer, I know I wouldn’t have enjoyed my Edinburgh College experience as much. The attention to detail in her practical demos have been incredible and the personal encouragement I have received has improved my ability and confidence immensely. Thank you for going the extra mile for your students, it doesn’t go unnoticed. Your dedication to your role is nothing short of admirable.
Nichola Heneke
She’s really helpful and supportive. Good communication with students. You can always count on her. She push students to do better but in the good way.
Nichola Heneke

Her advice, teaching methods and helping us understand how these skills all work together even from other classes that link to her class, a lecturer who can help make things clearer to students. She is a dedicated and caring lecturer, who enjoys her work and students. A great big thank you from all on Beauty Therapy HND1year

Nisha Hallberg
Olga Kinach
Joanna is a very nice person and open for students. She can even explain the hardest topics 🙂 That is why I chose her.

You’ve gone above and beyond this year, you’ve helped our SWAP class every step of the way. During a difficult year ….enjoy your retirement Pete and thank you ever so much!
Pete Smith
Lecturer
It’s been a tough year for everyone with the challenge of pitting Covid against our studies but Pete has helped us weather it all. There have been strikes, technological difficulties, disagreements, sick students, sick students’ children, cats on keyboards, elections, wacky backgrounds, assessments, and much more. Pete has always been there with a plan (and a joke) for how we can work through it together and most importantly has always been ready to listen to his students and alter that plan if necessary. But I don’t want to just compliment Pete’s organisational and cheerleading abilities, he’s also a fantastic teacher – keeping us engaged and enthused throughout; with some students even changing their degree plans because of him. On top of it all this has been Pete’s last year and rather than dial it in he chose to go out with a bang by inspiring one last class. Thank you Pete.
Peter McPherson
You made me feel better after I messed up. Thank you

Liz has helped me a lot in these past two years. The high quality standards that are required in our history course work as well as the appropriate guidance to achieve them has improved my research and writing skills. Having come from Portugal, a completely different educational background, Liz has had the most impact in my academic skills and has allowed me to build my self confidence allowing me progress into my university journey without any doubts and anxiety.
Thank you for your support, Liz.

Rachel Bedoian
Support Worker
Rachel’s the BEST support assistant ever, I’m not sure I’d be where I am now without her help. I don’t know what I’d do without her! She’s constantly keeping me on top of my (millions of) assignments, and I feel so safe with her. I know I can trust her, and that’s a rare thing for me. <3

Raymond Kelly
Raymond has been a great teacher, incredibly patient with students, takes time to explain things properly and to ensure that all students are happy with the work they are doing.
Raymond Kelly
Rebecca Lawrence
Kelsey not only excels as a teacher, her witty humour keeps the whole class entertained and chilled during stressful periods of learning. Kelsey offers help often, often outside lecture’s slotted hours, is brutally honest, and get the students to where they need to be. Kelsey has been great at communicating any changes within schedules and lets us know assessment dates with at least 2 weeks notice. Could not fault her.
Rebecca Mather
Jennie has helped and supported me a huge amount over the two courses I have been a part of at Edinburgh college – UAL Level 2 and CAP. As someone who has had a lot of issues with education it isn’t always easy to engage in learning but it is people like Jennie who bring out the best in their students.
Although I am nominating Jennie I want to acknowledge that I have learned so much from all the lecturers on Contemporary Art Practice including Colette Woods and Alan Holligan. Their hard work and passion is inspiring, if I could nominate all of them then I would. :•)

Ruth Brown
Learning Development Tutor
Thank you Ruth for supporting me when I realised I had an addiction to alcohol. I appreciate you taking it seriously and offering support networks and resources. Thank you for having my back and also for supporting me in finding employment. You helped me come from a cafe in a garden centre in the middle of nowhere to progressing to work for the Courtyard by Marriot hotel. I am alot happier there. The Marriot look after their staff and pay very well considering my position within the Kitchen. You’re a star and I admire how hard you work and the commitment you have to your students, along side looking after your children. I hope others can recognise the hard work you put in because your help has really paid off for me. I am now a recovering alcoholic with new hobbies and interests, I deal with my emotional wellbeing a lot better and I am now set for success within the hospitality industry. The attention to detail in her practical demos have been incredible and the personal encouragement I have received has improved my ability and confidence immensely. Thank you for going the extra mile for your students, it doesn’t go unnoticed. Your dedication to your role is nothing short of admirable.
Stacey McKinnon
Stephanie Morrison
You have really helped all your students understand the course in a way that makes sense to us all.
If it wasn’t for Angie I know most us wouldn’t be where we are today. During my two years at college Angie and helped me grow and develop as a practitioner and encouraged me to go out with my comfort zone & challenge myself with things I thought I’d never be able to do.
