• Pricing for New York City hotels is quite dependent on the time of year. You will pay a hefty premium between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, for example, but prices will drop dramatically for January and February. Of course, those are the coldest months of the year, so make sure to bring plenty of layers.
• Beware of traversing crowded areas like Midtown Manhattan by taxi during rush hour; gridlock is almost a given. New York is a city meant to be explored by foot, the easiest way to get from point A to point B is often either by walking or by subway.
