Reviews For The Podcast “This American Life” Curated From iTunes

The inclusion of a story about the brother who repeats the violent conduct of an impaired boy who regularly tortures his pet armadillo by drowning it to unconsciousness was repellent. Was it supposed to be art? It reminded me that it is the rare case that women undertake or write about violence done to helpess creatures oh, just for the heck of it. Ira Glass afterward underscored that the story was a work of fiction and no animals were harmed. But who dreams up stuff like that and decides it’d make for good reading? Or publishes it as entertainment and gives you a heads up sort of post hoc? It was disgusting and there should’ve been a heads up that animal cruelty was involved in the segment. Nice job, TAL. I won’t be reading any Brady Udall anytime soon.
