Paramount+’s At Midnight: Plot, Cast, Release Date, and Everything Else We Know
Affairs of the heart are often fickle. Love itself can be complicated, full of indefinable complexities. This February, Paramount+ will offer the exclusive original At Midnight, a humorous celebration of romance through a story exploring the role fate and magic play in love.
In the words of Zora Neale Hurston, “Love is a moving thing,” much like the sea. Its source is untraceable; when it arrives, it is baffling and indefinable. There are no rules. What is meant to be is left to fate or serendipity. However, despite love’s many inconsistencies, and the ebb and flow of highs and lows, we celebrate it. And February is the single month for observance, with one day set aside to honor this multifaceted, all-encompassing thing that engulfs us. At Midnight points out the magical aspects underlining how the most fortunate things can happen, whether our guards are down or on high alert. And, when love crops up, it is blind, demonstrating not all matches made in heaven meet the standard definition of perfection.

One of the most conventional practices of observance on Valentine’s Day is a date and a movie. Films elicit profound emotion, letting viewers get lost in rich imaginings. Romantic films fill the filmgoer with optimism and produce loving behavior. As a 2016 article in Filminquiry notes, “… one reason loving behaviors feel good is they help generate important hormones for well-being and healing.” This makes film-going extremely therapeutic. Just a generous helping of romance and a splash of comedy, and it is like paradise to the senses. And At Midnight possesses the ideal blend. Here is everything we know about the upcoming film.
At Midnight: The Plot
What is in a name? Well, everything. And for this film, the title At Midnight perfectly defines the magic moments that serve up romance, ultimately leading to fulfillment and love. This account is about an unfortunate encounter that brings together two unique individuals. While flowers blossom in the sunlight, love blossoms through a series of midnight meet-ups in this feature.

In this Jonah Feingold film, Alejandro, an ambitious assistant hotel manager, and Sophie, a movie star, cross paths at a splendid beachfront hotel in Mexico. Unfortunately, Sophie, who is on location for a project, discovers her present suitor has eyes for another. If only that were the sum of it all. It’s not solely a roving eye. His desires for another have been awakened. And the subject of that interest is none other than Sophie’s co-star. Despite the saltiness lining her fresh wound after catching her long-term beau cheating, she must continue her work. After all, she is the superhero in the film.
Then, she meets Alejandro because of her placement in lodgings at his work. It is the perfect place, and optimal timing, for this somewhat imperfect pairing. Although they seem unlikely to couple up, destiny is kind, the stars align, and like magnets, they are pulled together. This film proves that some powerfully mystical things can happen At Midnight.

Jonah Feingold is a born romantic with a penchant for filmmaking. You’ve Got Mail and When Harry Met Sally… were his inspirations. In an interview with 1883 Magazine, he gives credit to L.A. Love Story, claiming it as his gateway drug into aspiring to make similar fare.
“A more obscure gateway drug is a movie called L.A. Story which I watched and realized [I] can do rom-com with a dash of magical realism.”
And his drive to do so is evident. This inspiration is an aspect that shines in this feature as it strikes tones reminiscent of the classic films that nurtured his gift.
At Midnight is Feingold’s second feature film, with his directorial debut being the romantic comedy Dating and New York. But directing is far from his only talent. Feingold is a man of several crafts. He is also a writer and producer. And in At Midnight, Feingold also demonstrates his skill for writing, as he is credited for writing the screenplay alongside Maria Hinojos and Giovanni M. Porta. One final lovely tidbit, At Midnight, was shot in beautiful Mexico, offering authentic and distinctive charm.
It is the perfect time to stir up those feel-good hormones mere days before Valentine’s Day, so don’t miss out on watching At Midnight.
