My Time At Sandrock Multiplayer Beta Launches Next Week
The follow-up to indie hit My Time at Portia, My Time at Sandrock, will receive its first multiplayer open beta starting on January 12, followed by an early access period at a later date.
The upcoming beta test will bring a bunch of new content, including new multiplayer co-op commissions, a planting and mounting system, new monsters, plus an advanced town management system that allows players to kick out inactive members.
Pathea Games announced via a blog post that the beta testing will take place between January 12, 10:00 PM ET and January 13, 04:00 CET local time. Players will have access to a catalog of new content to build their town with friends, such as an upgraded town management system that lets them set up private rooms, invite specific players to join their team, and manage builder access.
My Time at Sandrock previously had a closed alpha test back in August 2022 to gather feedback from a small batch of lucky players. This test was followed by an open pre-alpha test in September 2022. However, the upcoming test marks the first open beta for the game’s 4-player multiplayer mode.

The open beta introduces an updated story background, in which some events and NPCs might differ from the single-player story due to them happening nearly 50 years ago. The commerce guild has been upgraded to level 20 with new machines and sensors. It also features a new in-game announcement system that will keep players up to date on game updates and server maintenance.
Players will use a co-op commission board in the workshop that will provide more co-op missions, including hunting and planting. They can earn plentiful rewards by improving workshops and commerces. This new board will also help players count on their teammates as their quest progress is shared.
As part of the beta testing, players will explore ruins to face challenges and take on the newly-added monsters with their friends. Lastly, the much-requested planting system will be added to My Time at Sandrock, allowing players to farm their workshop to get crops.
My Time at Sandrock was first released in early access back in May 2022. Considered a follow-up to My Time at Portia, the game retains the main aspects of the life simulation genre while letting players restore the community to its former glory.
