2. Open top cover and move the Carriage to the middle.
3. Open the Carriage Latch.
4. Remove the printheads one by one as shown below:
CAUTION: Do not pull abruptly because this can damage the printhead.
5. Close and Lock the Carriage latch close the top cover and switch ON the printer.
6. Printer should initialize and display a message to insert printheads as shown in the image below:
7. Select Options under printhead menu and select replace printhead.
8. Open the Top cover and Disengage the Carriage latch.
9. Insert the Printheads one by one in the correct slot and check if the front panel recognizes it. If the front panel does not recognize any printhead, replace the printhead with a new one.
CAUTION: When installing the new printhead there may be some resistance, so you need to press it down firmly but smoothly. You should hear a beep and see confirmation on the touch control panel display that the printhead has been inserted.
10. Push down as indicated by the arrow shown below.
11. Engage the blue carriage latch and close the top cover.
12. The touch control panel display confirms that all printheads are correctly inserted. The printer starts checking and preparing the printheads. The default routine process, when all printheads are changed, takes 10 minutes.
If the printer finds problems in preparing the printheads, it takes longer, up to 45 minutes. For a single printhead insertion, the times vary between 2 and 40 minutes. After all printheads are checked and prepared, the printhead
realignment procedure runs automatically if paper is loaded.
Once the printer finishes printing Alignment page and displays Ready status, Check the printhead status as shown below
1. Press on the information icon.
2. Press on the printhead menu icon and the following screen is displayed.
3. Press on each printhead to get the information about each printhead.
4. The touch control panel displays information on the selected Printhead.
If the Ink fired has exceeded 1000ml or Warranty Status shows Out Of warranty, Please replace the respective printhead, as shown in the steps above, to avoid Issue re-occurrence.
Note: If the Printer does not initialize or gets stuck at 94% even after restarting without Printheads, please contact HP Technical Support.
