After moving from the arms of various directors, and production companies, the film finally began filming in February 2023. As per the recent updates, filmmakers are aiming for October 2023 release that they teased with its trailer.

The horror video game Five Nights at Freddy’s featured many jumpscares in its detail-oriented complex and intriguing plot. The upcoming film is reportedly going to release for a larger market. It will mainly focus on children despite never being their original intended audience. Five Nights at Freddy’s, as per its age rating, is safe for children, but parents’ discretion is advised.
- The movie will release on the game’s tenth anniversary. Its trailer promises the film is a faithful adaptation of the video game. According to the original plot, a security guard arrives to work at a pizza place. He discovers the place is haunted and begins his fight for survival.
- The players must keep an eye on several security monitors in a room. They can only view one monitor at a time and keep an eye on the suspicious animatronics in the store. The animatronics don’t move while the player keeps an eye on them, but if they fail, the animatronic would suddenly appear in the room and kill the guard.

- The FNaF movie promises a hefty dose of nostalgia for the original players. It follows a troubled security guard who arrives to work his night shift at Freddy Fazebear’s Pizza. On his first night of duty, the guard realizes that his shift at Freddy’s wouldn’t be as easy to survive as he thought. The film will also explore the premise of the game’s sequel and answer many questions.

The much-awaited Universal Studio horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s stars Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) as Mike Schmidt, the security guard. Meanwhile, Matthew Lillard (Scream) and Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot) will also appear as the story’s antagonists.
- Previously, Warner Bros. studios expressed their interest in producing the film along with Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment (The Ring), Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies).
- The project didn’t lead to fruition, and series creator Scott Cawthorn announced restarting its production from square one in 2017. He has remained attached to the film throughout, and now the film will release in theaters on October 27, with a simultaneous release on NBC/Universal’s streaming service Peacock.
