the agents at the sete rios station were very rude and not helpful at all they are to blame for the fact that i didn’t reach the bus i ordered tickets for at 8 am.The only helpful person was the busdriver at 9.30 that was very helpful. over all the ladys sitting at the desk in sete rios were just sending us away, giving no assistance.We talked to 2 of the 3 ladys there and both were rude

I bought a bus ticket for 9:30am. It never turned up. No warning, no apology.
I had to buy another ticket for another bus to leave an hour and 15 minutes later.
I missed my connection at my destination also.
Never will I buy a ticket for City Express again.

The bus driver told me that my ticket wasn’t valid, so I wasnt able to board the bus for which I bought a ticket. Then when I explained the situation at the ticket booth, instead of giving me a new ticket for free, I had to pay again. horrible experience all around.

The Driver had to open up another section of the packing space for the luggage as it was too full on the side for Castelo Branco. When I asked him to open for me he was angry and performed he slammed the door so hard when he closed it and stormed off. That is not the way to carry on about something so minor. One does not have to be so rude it’s not necessary to get so upset. He will have a heartattch.

Due to a software overbooking issue, I had a ticket with seat number above 60 and since I don’t know Portuguese language I didn’t understand what the bus driver was saying about the overbooking problem..the bus arrival was delayed around 45 minutes and that was unacceptable..with no break in the trip I was going to lose consciousness because I needed something to eat for my blood suger level. Honestly I was shocked how they solved the overbooking problem with one hour delay, so for me it was like solving a problem with another additional problem.

I’m a US citizen and have little ability with Portuguese. It was virtually impossible for me to communicate with the drivers. When I went to the office regarding my ticket, which I was unable to print, the woman at the counter did help me to get my ticket but her attitude was not pleasant at all.

Finding the bus station in Lisbon is a challenge without clear directions from the Metro. The staff at the ticket counter in Sete Rios were extremely rude; the female one shouted at me and the male one very reluctantly answered the questions. When arrived at Castelo Branco, the luggage compartment couldn’t be opened for a while that caused me missing my appointment with my AirBnB host. The bus driver was very good and the low rating has nothing to do with him.

In general I liked the bus and service. I do have a concern about the lack of precautions and cleanliness and sitting me next to a stranger ( I observed at least one othet problematic instance of this). At least one of your competitors is much more conscious of this.

We expected more comfortable seats. There was very little space. Also no way of charging phone/devices which we thought would be available. Also we feel that water and a few snacks should have been available to purchase.

The departure boards at Coimbra were not working. The bus finally rolled up 10 minutes late and there was then another wait if 10 minutes before the driver reappeared. This meant that we very nearly missed the connection at Lisboa Sette Rios. That bus departed almost on time.
