i did my research before buying this moka pot. i got it in red with the six cup variation. i’ve been using this moka pot for a little over a month now. this is not the type of coffee pot to serve a group of family/friends. i love the simplicity of this pot. going into this moka pot, i read the do’s and donts to prevent any harm to this product, considering it sitting on a stove to brew coffee. i’ve always put the heat level for this moka pot at medium and it holds up really well. i only do a rinse when i wash the pot. it is easy to clean. so far, i used peet’s and illy’s ground coffee. my favorite is the illy’s bold expresso ground. i will try lavazza’s expresso ground when i get the chance. the flavor is nice and bold and the coffee gets really hot. i read that it is best to throw in already hot water into the pot to prevent a bitter taste from boiling from cold. this also helps you to stay more alert when the coffee is done and gives you short time to wait and turn down the heat to prevent any damage. i was told to be careful with the handle of the pot. as i hold onto the handle as i pour the coffee into my cup, i could feel a bit of a instabilty. my pot hasn’t gotten damage yet and i know it has been a month, but i’m still impressed that the paint looks nice.
overall, i would recommend this moka pot for those who want something simple, clean with no sacrifice in flavor. if anything, i’ve had the best tasting coffee out of this moka pot than any home coffee machines. 5/5
