The Amazon Web Services Industries (AWSI) team are searching for a seasoned professional who will lead our AWS Industries Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams and function. The successful candidate will lead a central business operations and analytics function that enables accountability and transparency into AWS Industries business performance for a multi-billion worldwide sales and technical organization. This is a manager of manager role for a team which has four key focus areas: 1/drive scale and operational excellence through centralized mechanisms (e.g. annual planning orchestration, revenue forecasting, pipeline management, goal setting, and workforce management); 2/support the AWS Industries VP and Extended LT org with actionable insights, data, and dashboards to gauge performance and refine strategy; 3/provide high quality data and actionable insights for our global business operating cadences (e.g. Top Deals, WBR, MMR); and 4/serve as the cross-AWS Industries conduit for engaging on a broader basis with other AWS organizations (e.g. SMGS, WWSO, Finance, Partner) for AWS wide standards, policy, data platforms, and other strategic integration elements. The successful candidate must have depth of expertise across and Business Intelligence solution stacks, Data Engineering approaches and solutions, and have demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems. The candidate must be able to roll-up their sleeves, and coach their team on working directly with models/data, be detail-oriented, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They will drive the continuous improvement of forecast models, business intelligence / reporting tools and other field activities to enable sales, technical, and operational goals. They will have superb communication and customer-relationship skills, outstanding analytic insight, and be a passionate advocate for their customers to other internal teams. They will drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, have excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex strategies or analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way. They will have a mindset of continuous improvement and an ability to deliver results while also driving innovation and simplicity for the benefit of our key stakeholders. Preferred location for this job is Seattle, however San Francisco or New York are also options. Key job responsibilities Business Intelligence: • Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of reporting solutions for multiple AWS Industries teams. Leverage data, technology, and business acumen to develop analytical frameworks and provide actionable insights for informed decision-making across a variety of industries (e.g. Automotive & Manufacturing, Strategic Accounts, etc.) and functional areas (e.g. Business Innovation, SA/CSM, etc.). This team also works closely with business operations and engineering teams in planning, designing, executing, and implementing reporting solutions, automating mechanisms, and driving business cadences. Data Engineering: • Responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports the AWS Industries organization with actionable insights, data, and automation. This team also helps the business operations and business intelligence teams understand their data and processing options to build effective reporting solutions, automate mechanisms, implement self-service solutions for recurrent requests. Business Insights: • Drive global standardization of program delivery practices, businesses processes, and reporting. • Work directly within global sales data to orchestrate metrics, key performance indicators and decision criteria, and to generate actionable insights. • Utilize tools including, Excel, SQL, and Tableau to create dashboards and insights from data that support the entire AWS Industries business. • Build out robust reporting mechanisms for the AWSI Leadership and Sales teams to monitor the business • Lead the development of new metrics that bring new clarity and insights • Drive consistency in reporting and methodology with stakeholders across a growing organization • Develop robust and scalable reporting solutions • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management
