AG catalog | Everything Fun Under The Sun
Wow, it sure has been a while since I’ve done one of these, hasn’t it? 🙂 Really sorry about that, guys! I would probably do it more often but it’s a pain to upload pictures to the computer and it takes me forever. 😉 But I will really work on trying to get these up more often, because I know (well, hope, that is) that you all enjoy them.
Today we’ll be looking at some of the things that were in the American Girl of Today (or Truly Me 😉 ) collection back in 2004. First we’ll see what was new for the dolls that summer!
This was the “introductory page” to the Today line at the time. Every season, the dolls would be dressed in different outfits. In this catalog, since it was summer, the dolls were dressed in summery clothes! 🙂
Here’s what the dolls looked like at the time. That meet outfit actually looks pretty nice to me, although I have a feeling most young girls would disagree with me. 😉
Here’s a closer look at the dolls. Most of them weren’t even displayed in the catalog, which I think is kind of strange! Plus, AG had a special deal where you could get Coconut along with one of the Girl of Today dolls. They had this deal for quite awhile, until at least maybe 2008 or so. 🙂
In summer 2004, AG was also selling some really cool popstar outfits for the Today dolls! My favorite is the blue paisley dress in the middle, although I really think all of them are cute. There were also neat-looking instruments that the dolls could play, which really worked! Even Coconut could join in on the fun! I wish AG still made little accessory sets for her, because this one-along with the others they made for her- looked super adorable. 😉
Moving onto fall 2004 now. 🙂 I love the outfit that the doll is wearing on the catalog cover!
Some more doll outfits and school stuff. Notice that the backpack (which came with several accessories) cost $20 at this time. That sounds like a bargain nowadays! If American Girl had a backpack like that in 2015, I’m sure it would cost at least $40.
They also had these same outfits (as well as the backpack and other accessories) for girls, too! 🙂
The Today dolls page got a little bit of a makeover, too! There are now more dolls displayed in the catalog than there were before. I wonder what made AG decide to put more of them in?
There were also some interesting Halloween costumes for the dolls. I don’t really like the Spider/Witch one, but the Grecian Princess outfit is very pretty. 🙂 I love how Coconut got her own chariot, too! 😀
Gymnastics, soccer, and riding outfits. Notice that none of them are pink–not even a little pink! 😀 Why can’t AG make sports outfits like these ones nowadays? They look so much more normal than pink soccer uniforms!
Pajamas, bedding, etc. Some of you might have noticed that the bed featured here is actually the same one Basilmentos (on YouTube) uses in several of her videos. 🙂
Some Coconut (and Licorice!) stuff…I love that doll outfit on the left page! I wish American Girl had never changed Coconut’s look.
Wow, even more Coconut stuff!! I never knew AG had so many Coconut things. Before I got this catalog, most of this stuff I had never seen before!
Now, let’s take a peek at the Holiday 2004 catalog.
You know how American Girl comes out with a new holiday outfit/outfits every year?Well, this outfit was the one they released in 2004. I personally think that it is REALLY cute! That skirt is gorgeous! And I love the doll that’s wearing it (TM #24). I’ve always wanted her. 🙂
The American Girl of Today dolls got new outfits, too! This one was available until late 2006, I believe, so I remember it. 🙂 They also released a couple of new dolls, one of which was #24. Don’t all the girls look cute? 😉
I love this picture!
They had a girl-sized version of the new meet outfit too! I would have loved to wear something like this. The only thing I don’t like is that the jacket looks way too short.
Bath stuff. Coconut looks so cute in her “private tub”! XD They had that bathtub for years, and I guess they technically still do have it except it’s a little different-looking now. I love the doll bathrobe, too!
Here are some more cute outfits. I especially love the “Weekend Fun Outfit” that’s on the far right. And Coconut looks so funny with her little sailor’s hat and life preserver! 😀
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at the Girl of Today stuff with me! Next time (and I will do it really soon, I promise!!), I’ll show you what was available for these dolls in 2005. 🙂
Have a great rest of your day!
