Teaching music in school is a great way to help engage various parts of the brain, some parts of which may not always be engaged for other subjects.
Why is art education important?
Art education is important as it is another form of expression. Art can be extremely therapeutic for many children who struggle with various difficulties. Art education allows us to connect through another medium, and learn about the way artists lived via their works.
Using art education to understand the world around us allows pupils to access themes, cultures and expressions they may not otherwise understand. Having a greater understanding of the world around us helps to create empathetic members of society.
Art education allows us to explore the world and historical events through the eyes of
another. Without art we wouldn’t be able to understand our history in as rich details as we do now. Art is something that humans crave, from the earliest cave paintings to the great modern artists of our time. Exposing people and children to art provides them with a glimpse into history as well as the blank canvas to express themselves.
