Where to watch The Polar Express 2022: Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+?

Released in 2004, The Polar Express may be one of the more recent Christmas films compared with some of the all-time greats but that hasn’t stopped the animated adventure from becoming viewed as a beloved classic by many.

With December almost upon us, more and more are now starting to turn to Christmas movies to help get them into the festive spirit and what better way to do that than with the Tom Hanks-starring film?

But where exactly are fans able to watch The Polar Express in 2022? Here’s all you need to know.

Where to watch The Polar Express in the US

As a Warner Bros. film, fans in the US will be able to watch The Polar Express via HBO Max.

The streaming service is normally priced at $9.99 per month ($99.99 per year) for the ad-supported tier or $14.99 ($149.99 per year) for the ad-free tier.

But if you act quickly, the streamer is currently offering a Black Friday deal giving fans access to the ad-supported subscription for $1.99 for three months, but the offer is set to expire on November 28.

Hulu customers are also able to add HBO Max as an extra on top of their existing subscriptions.

As well as HBO Max, Sling TV is another home for The Polar Express in 2022 and is priced at $40 per month for its cheapest option, while new subscribers get half off their first month.

The Polar Express is also available via TBS and TNT for cable TV fans, although the film is set to expire and leave the sites on November 30.

If all that fails, The Polar Express is available to buy and rent digitally via a host of online stores including Prime Video, Google Play via YouTube, Vudu and Apple TV for as little as $3.99.

Where to watch The Polar Express in the UK

Over in the UK, The Polar Express is currently available on Sky’s NOW streaming service and, by extension, is available to Sky Cinema customers as the two services share the same library of films.

NOW’s cinema package is priced at £9.99 per month.

If you would prefer to buy or rent The Polar Express specifically, the film is also available on a host of online stores including Amazon Prime Video, Google Play via YouTube and Apple TV where it’s available for as little as £3.49 to rent.

Now available in 4K

In 2022, 18 years after its original release in cinemas, The Polar Express has been given a 4K upgrade, allowing fans to gaze in wonder at each individual hair in the mustache of Tom Hanks’s train conductor.

The 4K version of the movie was released in the US on November 1 and followed on November 7 in the UK.

Fans can either purchase the 4K version digitally or on disc, and on Amazon, it’s currently priced at $23.79 in the US and £19.99 in the UK.
