Tree Planting Program

Tree Planting Program

Do you know a barren spot around town that could use a tree? A park, library or recreation center? A street island or right of way? If so, let us know. A minimum planting width strip of four feet between the curb and sidewalk is required for planting trees along streets.

Because young trees do not survive well if they are planted when it is too hot and dry or very cold, we do not plant them in the Summer. Under normal seasonal conditions, our planting seasons are March 1 through May 30 (Spring) and September 30 through December 31 (Fall). Depending upon when a tree planting request is submitted, it may take up to six months to have the new tree in the ground.
