Deputy Chief Negotiator for the UK-Canada FTA Negotiations

Paul Jeff is the UK’s Deputy Chief Negotiator for the UK-Canada FTA negotiations, taking up the role in April 2021. He joined the Department of International Trade (DIT) as Head of Programme Delivery for the Continuity Agreements Programme in 2017. In this role, he oversaw the negotiation and implementation of agreements with 67 countries covering over £200bn in trade in the run up to Brexit.

Previously, Paul worked at HMRC for 17 years in their Fraud Investigation Service across several roles in Operations, Strategy, Policy and Performance. Graduating with an LLB (Hons) and LPC, Paul subsequently achieved a Masters in Financial Crime and Financial Investigation.
