Throne: Kingdom at War – NewsWatchTV
There are plenty of MMOs out there on the mobile market but real hits that’ll keep you coming back for more are few and far between. Throne: Kingdom at War is one of those “few and far between” mobile games. This MMORTS (massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game for the laymen) thrusts you into the medieval ages to battle over the right to the throne of Amaria.
Your story begins with the death of the king which thrusts the kingdom into chaos with factions willing to spill blood to claim what’s “rightfully theirs.” Each player is a Lord trying to seize power. In order to become the most powerful Lord you must build your army of knights, spearmen, warriors and cavalry to conquer and defeat enemy towns. But’s it not as simple as throwing an army together and marching off to sack the enemy.
No, you’ll need to focus on the things needed to strengthen your army and build resources. It’s all about strategy and long-term thinking. For instance, concentrate on building up Barracks and Infirmaries as that will directly affect the success of your military campaigns.
The game allows you to battle it out in PvE (player vs environment) or PvP (player vs player). I personally enjoy PvP for bragging rights. There’s a certain satisfaction I derive from knowing I whooped someone in the real world. Take on large-scale battles where hundreds of thousands fight to the death. Think Lord of the Rings.
By winning battles you gain valuable commodities like war trophies and military equipment. Going even further, you can conduct studies and upgrade the hero’s skills in an effort to increase your influence over the kingdom.
Remember this is a strategy game. It’s not all about wielding weapons and creating destruction and chaos. You have to think like a king. That means you have to make allies as well as enemies. Find allies who are willing to help you out. You can join an alliance of Lords that’s already been formed or you can create your own Order.
Once you link up, be smart. Exchange resources, coordinate joint attacks or fight other Orders to increase your holdings. This is a key element to your success in the game.
Now what’s a kingdom without its people? Make sure you don’t neglect your own. You have to build up farms, mines, stone quarries and lumber mills. What you decide to build is up to you. You can concentrate on producing resources and making the town self-sustaining or you might decide to pour all your resources into reinforcing the walls to keep you protected.
Then again you always have the choice to strictly concentrate on building the greatest, strongest army ever seen with the power and will to destroy any village with so much as a glance. Personally, I think there’s more to life than war but hey, the game is called “Throne: Kingdom at WAR” so how can I fault you?
This game is perfect for those looking for something to keep them engaged for hours on end or who just want to check in every once in a while and make sure things are running smoothly.
So, if you’re looking for a massive strategy based game that takes real brain power and skill while being wildly engaging with thrilling battle then check out Throne: Kingdom at War.
You can download it from the Google Play or App Store for free with available in-app purchases.
