Barry Williams, who played oldest brother Greg Brady in the ’70s sitcom “The Brady Bunch,” will headline “The Odd Couple” at Alhambra Theatre & Dining this spring.

In the show, which runs from May 25 through June 19, he will play Oscar Madison, the rumpled sportswriter who takes in his neat freak pal, Felix, who is going through a divorce.

Since it opened on Broadway in 1965, Neil Simon’s play has been constantly revived. A movie was made in 1968, a television series ran from 1970 to 1975, and a version rewritten by Simon for a female cast opened on Broadway in 1985.

A child actor, Williams made his television debut in a 1967 episode of “Dragnet.” After a series of guest roles he was cast as Greg Brady in 1969.

Following the show’s five-year run, Williams became involved in musical theater. In 1988, Williams appeared on Broadway in the musical, “Romance/Romance” with Tony Award-nominee Alison Fraser.

His 1992 autobiography, “Growing Up Brady: I Was a Teenage Greg,” written with Chris Kreski, spent three months on The New York Times Best Seller list.

“The Odd Couple” will be one of two Alhambra shows this year that will feature celebrity leads. It was previously announced that Jamie Farr, who played Klinger in TV’s “M*A*S*H,” will headline the farce “Lend Me a Tenor” from Sept. 21 through Oct. 16.
