The internet was fooled into thinking that the NFL was going to use a different ball for Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime
This should come as no surprise to anyone who spends time on social media, but the internet is filled with really stupid people.
In our most recent example of why that’s true, we enter the world of NFL football, and more specifically Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime. The NFL season is now just a week away, meaning Thursday Night Football is returning to Amazon Prime.
Amazon enlisted the help of Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford to promote Thursday Night Football on Prime video and completely duped the internet into thinking that they would also be debuting a new Prime Football that would be used during games in a series of promotional videos on social media.

Obviously it’s fake. Anyone with half of a brain would have realized that the second they saw the football. Matthew Stafford was throwing the ball 100 yard, while Russell Wilson and Justin Herbert were doing all different types of trick throws.

Look, the internet is filled with misinformation but the fact that people thought this Prime Football was real is probably the most embarrassing display I’ve seen in recent memory.
The comments and replies under the videos were just downright embarrassing.
I have no idea how so many people thought this dumb advertising campaign was real. It honestly amazes me. The same people probably thought that Mike Vick through a football out of the stadium.
I am way smarter than the majority of people on social media. I know that. This time was no different. When I first saw the commercials, I immediately knew that the football was just some dumb promo prop for Amazon and there was absolutely no way the NFL would just change their footballs for Thursday Night games.
I can’t believe that anyone believed this and gave the advertising and marketing department at Amazon an easy win with this not-funny, stupid, campaign. Shame on everyone who fell for it. Clearly not in midseason form. You have a week to get yourselves ready for the NFL season. Time to get it together.
It’s time to go back to the days of having me be in the advertisements for Prime Video. They were way better that whatever the hell Prime is releasing heading into the 2022-23 NFL season.
