The 15 Best Ridge Wallet Alternatives (2023 Update)
It isn’t hard to understand why guys might want to find some of the best Ridge wallet alternatives.
In an increasingly cash-free society, there’s really no need to throw a bulky, Costanza-sized traditional wallet in your back pocket.
That’s why the Ridge exploded in popularity a few years back when it debuted an RFID-blocking wallet with a minimalist design that consisted of just two metal plates and a taut elastic strap.
Ridge started a trend that a lot of other brands have copied, and nowadays you can find plenty of similar wallets for (significantly) better prices
It allows you to carry the essentials that most modern guys need for daily life (i.e. credit cards, debit cards, business cards and an ID card or two) without the unavoidable bulk that comes from high-quality leather wallets.
(As one Ridge wallet review on Amazon put it, “…this is actually what I wanted. A tough, durable, good looking man’s wallet that isn’t a massive wad of uncomfortable cowhide in my pockets.”)
The bad news is that, while the Ridge doesn’t have the same bulk as high-quality wallets made from leather, it does have the same price point:
The Ridge Wallet Aluminum starts at nearly 100 bucks, while the Ridge Wallet Titanium starts at 110 and goes up from there.
Fortunately, Ridge’s success has inspired a long line of competitors, and nowadays some of the best minimalist wallets come with the same high-quality materials and RFID-blocking technology, but not the high cost.
In this post we’ve rounded up more than a dozen handsome, effective and inexpensive Ridge wallet alternatives that will keep the bulk out of your wallet and your budget.

Ridge Wallet vs Mountain Voyage
This might be the best wallet for guys who like the overall look and functionality of the most popular minimalist wallets, but want a few more style options.
Like the last wallet listed above, this one has a money clip in lieu of an outer elastic (though in both cases the two sides of the wallet are held together by a second inner elastic band).
But the main differences between this one and similar wallets from Rigid, Shevrov and dozens of other wallet manufacturers are the material options.
Where most brands offer a minimalist aluminum wallet and/or carbon fiber versions, Mountain Voyage comes in a handsome wood option that somehow feels both more rugged and more refined than your standard metal EDC wallet.
Promising Review:
Ive been looking to upgrade from my bulky wallet for some time now and this was the perfect solution.
It provides durability along with a slim and lightweight design so I can comfortably carry it in any pocket.
The clip also has a beautiful mountain logo adding a nice touch to the whole look. Overall, the wallet exceeded my expectations and would definitely buy again.

Ridge Wallet vs Shevrov
Like Ridge, this model from Shevrov is a beautiful example of minimalistic design that has many of the same modern features (but a much more modest price tag).
It has a simple design that’s very reminiscent of Ridge’s, consisting of two exterior plates dotted by tiny screws along the outer edge, and can fit up to 12 credit, debit, ID or membership cards.
The outside plates are available in two different materials, both of which can easily handle minor wear and tear most of us subject our wallets to on a daily basis:
There’s a handsome carbon fiber weave that looks a lot like Ridge’s flagship wallet, or an aluminum body that comes in a versatile silver color.
The only thing it doesn’t have is an elastic money strap, opting instead for a stainless steel money clip on the side of the wallet, which closely resembles Ridge’s money clip version.
(My personal preference is for the clip, which I think lends the wallet a sleeker and more stylish design, but I know some guys prefer the practicality of the strap.)
When you add it all up, the result is a sturdy, stylish wallet that closely mimics the unique design and compact size of the Ridge, but comes at about a third of the price.
Promising Review:
I’m genuinely surprised by just how much more comfortable and efficient using this wallet is.
I compared it to the higher end brands a few friends have, and the conclusion we all came to is that they all paid way too much for theirs. I love it and have more than enough room for all of my cards.

Ridge Wallet vs Roco
This one is a departure from the styles listed above, and it’s those differences that make it one of the top alternatives to Ridge and other, similar designs.
Roco’s design consists of two rigid plates held together in the middle by a thick elastic band, which comes in two different sizes:
A smaller size that holds five or six cards, and a larger size that can hold up to 20.
The Roco fills slightly different needs than the Ridge (or its two close replicas listed above), but the absence of screws means you don’t have to worry about build quality, or ever having to fuss with replacement parts.
Promising Review:
I recently tried one of the Ridge knockoffs, and quickly realized that style was just way too heavy and thick. This ROCO style is noticeably thinner, at least half the size of those other styles, and that’s not even taking into account the huge money clip on those others.
UPDATE: 2.5 yrs later and this little pup is still holding up. The band hasn’t stretched and all cards and cash still stay put. Excellent product!

Ridge Wallet vs Dango
Like Ridge and a lot of other brands on this list, Dango makes a number of slim and innovative wallets.
But as a style blog that values both looking good and living well, it probably won’t surprise you to find that our favorite is from their Dapper line, which combines the security of RFID blocking with the sharp style of top grain leather.
Like the Roco model listed above, the D01 has one thick, rubber center strap that holds everything together.
But it offers way more variety in the style department, thanks to a range of leather options available in a variety of classic, masculine colors.
Promising Review:
I wasn’t sure if this would have enough space for what I like to carry. The bi-fold is perfect. I absolutely love everything about this wallet.
It’s slick, easy to use and with the aluminum frame, it’s solid. Highly recommend Dango!

Ridge Wallet vs Fidelo
Fidelo’s carbon fibre card case is only available in one color, but the good news is that it’s a versatile black pattern that goes with everything.
And the fideo is one of the only smart wallets to offer different color bands, which allows you to both change up your style, and extend the lifespan of each band.
(The band can generally last a pretty long time, but like any other elastic band, after years of use they tend to stretch out.)
Promising Review:
This is the perfect minimalistic wallet: sleek, strong, and compact…
Though it comes with multiple colors, I favor the “black-on-black” combo for maximum sleekness. The band itself feels very sturdy and usually it’s a bit of work to “undo” the wallet, which is a good thing in my opinion.

I originally bought the Ridge wallet as a gift for my husband & spent $150. Unfortunately he lost it. I decided to purchase this as a replacement just to compare.
Honestly can’t tell the difference! Seems just as durable as the Ridge. Probably won’t be spending $150 again, if this holds up. Go for it, save some money.

This wallet lives up to the advertising. I was easily able to fit 12 cards (6 I use frequently in the easy access pouch and 6 I rarely use under the back plate) and the cash strap is outstanding. It holds the cards firmly! I tried my darnedest to get the cards to fly out and couldn’t do it.

Although requiring a short period of adjustment having carried a bifold throughout life, I find this waller convenient and comfortable.
Don’t pay more for the same features you’ll find right here. The wallet easily holds my cards, ids and pocket cash. If considering a change, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Don’t hesitate to give this one a try! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and build durability of this wallet.
The metal pieces on this wallet are thinner than those on my Ridge Wallet but they also do not require any small screws to hold pieces together. Those screws were the source of my warranty issue on a Ridge Wallet that was less than 2 years old.

I have tried other minimalist wallets and I have to say that without a doubt, this is the best one. Forgetting all of the built-in tool options, just as a functional wallet without bulk, it is amazing…
Seriously, I have talked this item up so much with my friends that they think I have ownership stake! GREAT product!

Love my Secrid Wallet! I looked for slim wallets that would protect my cards from physical damage and RF scanning and tried several before I got my first Secrid wallet.
The thing that separates the Secrid wallet from the other wallets for me is the easy to use mechanism that flips the cards out when I push it. I
t is much easier to access my cards then the wallets where you manually have to extract the cards with your thumb, etc.
