Stripe Express Connect

Partial.ly is moving from Stripe Standard Connect to Stripe Express Connect.

Stripe Standard Connect vs Stripe Express Connect

Prior to Jan 5th, 2021, merchants were required to use Stripe Standard Connect. This was an independent Stripe account that the merchant had to create at www.stripe.com prior to signing up with Partial.ly.

With Stripe Express Connect, merchants create their Stripe account within the Partial.ly portal during Partial.ly sign up. This Stripe Express account will be used exclusively  for Partial.ly payments. Instead of needing to sign into www.stripe.com to view payments and payouts, you will be able to manage and view all payment and payout activity within your Partial.ly portal.

I already use Stripe Standard Connect with Partial.ly. Do I need to switch?

No, merchants who started using Partial.ly prior to Jan 5th, 2021 can continue to use Stripe Standard Connect. However, if for some reason you disconnect your Standard account from Partial.ly, you will then be required to create an Express account.

I’m new and use a standard account for other checkout options on my site, can I keep using it?

Yes, you can continue to use your Standard Stripe account for other checkout option. Your Stripe Express account will only be used with Partial.ly orders.

What countries can use Stripe Express?

Stripe Express is currently available to the following countries:

What currencies can I accept?

Stripe supports processing payments in 135+ currencies, allowing you to charge customers in their native currency while receiving funds in yours. This is especially helpful if you have a global presence, as charging in a customer’s native currency can increase sales. To see what currencies you can accept, please see the following Stripe article: Supported currencies.

One of my customers has opened a Partial.ly payment plan, how long will it take to receive funding to my bank account?

Partial.ly’s default payout is 7 business days. Keep in mind payouts can overlap, resulting in daily payouts.*

Once you receive your first payout, you can request a lower payout period. Not all businesses will be allowed a lower payout, as it depends on the country that your business is located in, as well as your business’ risk profile. Low risk US businesses can have as little as a 2 business day payout period, however, we may hold funds for longer for higher risk businesses.

*Japan-based merchants must have payouts once a week on Mondays. If you need to change it to a different day, please email [email protected] once you complete registration.
