Singapore to have 5 long public holiday weekends in 2024

SINGAPORE — Singaporeans will get to enjoy five long weekends next year, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said on Wednesday (May 24) in a press release announcing the country’s public holidays in 2024.

Five holidays next year fall on either a Friday, Sunday, or Monday.

As the second day of Chinese New Year falls on Sunday, Feb 11, the following Monday will be a public holiday.

Two public holidays fall on a Monday. They are:  

  • New Year’s Day (Jan 1)
  • Hari Raya Haji (June 17)

The remaining two public holidays fall on a Friday. They are: 

  • Good Friday (March 29)
  • National Day (Aug 9)

The other holidays are as follows:

  • First day of Chinese New Year (Saturday, Feb 10)
  • Hari Raya Puasa (Wednesday, April 10)
  • Labour Day (Wednesday, May 1)
  • Vesak Day (Wednesday, May 22)
  • Deepavali (Thursday, 31 Oct)
  • Christmas Day (Wednesday, Dec 25)
