ONE Ocean Network Express – information about carrier

Ocean Network Express (ONE), is a Japanese container shipping company that is headquartered in Singapore and Tokyo. It was formed in 2016 as a joint venture of the Japanese shipping companies Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and K-Line, acquiring the container shipping operations of its moms and dad companies. Since 2017, it had a combined fleet size of 1.4 million TEU.

ONE was founded in 2016 as a joint endeavor between Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and K-Line. It was formed as part of a larger process of consolidation that was taking place in the container shipping market at that time, impacted by bad profits and surplus capacity. It combined the container shipping divisions of the 3 companies, forming the sixth-largest container shipping business worldwide at that time.

NYK manages a 38% stake of the joint venture, while MOL and K-Line own 31% each. The company began selling April 2018, with a holding business workplace in Tokyo, worldwide headquarters in Singapore and regional head office in London (Canary Wharf), Richmond, Hong Kong, and Sao Paulo, and further regional workplaces in 90 nations, with business and sales activities, currently begun in October 2017. In August 2018, ONE purchased more than 14,000 cooled containers.

In December 2018, ONE and PSA International signed an agreement to form a joint endeavor at Pasir Panjang Terminal in Singapore to carry out container operations in the terminal, beginning in the first half of 2019.

ONE decided to paint all its recently launched ships and container equipment in a appealing and recognizable magenta color. The magenta shade concept was motivated by the cherry blooms typical in Japan, where the 3 parent companies are situated.
