NEXUS Enrollment on Arrival

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in partnership with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), have begun offering NEXUS applicants the option of a two-step interview process for air travelers. The eight Canadian airport enrollment centers will be staffed with CBSA officers who will complete the Canadian portion of the NEXUS interview, and the U.S. interview with CBP will follow at Canadian airport preclearance locations for applicants departing from Canada to the United States. NEXUS Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) expands the program’s capacity to help enroll the thousands of applicants awaiting interviews.
 

Are you ready to enroll in NEXUS using Enrollment on Arrival? Follow these steps:

1. Complete the Canadian portion of the interview. Conditionally-approved NEXUS applicants are able to book the Canadian portion of their interview at a participating Canadian airport through their Trusted Traveler Programs account.
2. Book your flight to the U.S. departing one of the Canadian airport preclearance locations listed below. Please note the EoA hours of operation and recommended times when booking your flight.
3. Bring all required documents:
   • A valid passport. If you travel using more than one passport, please bring them all to the interview so that the information can be added to your file. This provides you with the ability to use multiple passports.
   • Documents providing evidence of residency. Examples are driver’s license (if the address is current), mortgage statement, rental payment statement, utility bill, etc. This is not required for minors.
   • A permanent resident card (if applicable).

If you require assistance for your NEXUS interview because of a disability, immediately inform the interviewing CBP officer of your need for a reasonable modification or auxiliary aid or service to participate in the interview. For your planning purposes, please understand that if you use EoA and are requesting a modification, aid, or service at that time and an effective modification, aid, or service is not readily available, the interview may be scheduled for a later date.

Travelers should provide themselves with enough time to conduct the CBP portion of the interview, as they will be taken in the order in which they arrived. Interviews may take place when operationally feasible during operating hours. For the fastest experience, it is recommended to be in the CBP area for the interview during the EoA recommended times listed for each airport. Arrival outside of the recommended hours could result in significantly longer wait times due to an increased number of flights departing to the U.S.
