1. How to Uninstall your Software on Windows

Windows 11

  1. Right click on the Start Menu, first icon from left to right on your taskbar
  2. Click on Installed Apps
  3. Select a program and click on Uninstall
  4. Follow the prompts to uninstall

Windows 10

  1. Right click on the Start Menu at the lower left corner of your screen and select Apps & features from the menu
  2. Select a program and click on Uninstall
  3. Follow the prompts to uninstall

Windows 8

  1. Using either your finger or mouse go to the left bottom corner of your screen and click on the pop up box so the Start Menu Grid opens on your screen.
  2. Then hover over the small icon on the bottom right and when the Charm Menu comes out from the right side of the screen click on the Magnifying glass for Search
  3. Search for Control Panel then select Control Panel and open it.
  4. Select Uninstall a program, and select the program you want to uninstall
  5. Right-click on the selected program and select Uninstall/change
  6. Follow the prompts to uninstall

Windows 7

  1. Go to the Start menu, select Control Panel, select Uninstall a program, and select the program you want to uninstall
  2. Right-click on the selected program and select Uninstall/change
  3. Follow the prompts to uninstall

Windows XP/Vista

  1. Go to the Start menu, select Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs, and select the program you want to uninstall
  2. Select change/remove
  3. Follow the prompts to uninstall

2. How to Uninstall on Mac

  1. Open Finder and click on Applications
  2. Find the software you want to uninstall and drag it to the Trash icon.

3. Uninstall Bundled Toolbars

  1. Go to your system’s Control Panel
  2. Click on Add/Remove (XP), Uninstall Programs (Vista/Win 7/Win 8)
  3. Look for ‘NCH Toolbar’ or the ‘Ask.com Toolbar’
  4. Click Uninstall

Firefox

  1. Go to your browser’s tab marked Tools.
  2. Click on Tools then click Add-ons then click on NCH Toolbar Uninstall.
  3. Or, if you don’t see a Tools tab…

  4. Click the orange Firefox menu button in the upper left corner, then select Add-ons, and click the Remove button next to the toolbar. Restart Firefox to put the changes in effect.

Internet Explorer

  1. Go to your browser’s Tools icon (picture of a gear). Click on Manage Add-Ons.
  2. Find the toolbar from the list of applications, highlight it and Disable.

Chrome

  1. Click the Options menu, which is to the far right of the address bar, and select Settings.
  2. Click the Extensions menu from the left sidebar, find the toolbar and click the trash icon to remove from Chrome.

4. How to Revert your Homepage

After installing a toolbar, if you left the option on, your default homepage may have been updated. Use the following instructions to revert your homepage.

Firefox

  1. Go to the page you want to be your homepage.
  2. Click and drag the icon to the left of the URL in the address bar to the homepage (house) icon on the right.

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8

  1. Go to the page you want to be your homepage.
  2. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.
    (If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Settings.)
  3. Tap or click Options, and under Home pages, tap or click Customize.
  4. Tap or click Add current site, edit the URL if you’d like, and then tap or click Add to make the site one of your home pages.

Chrome

  1. Click the Options menu, which is to the far right of the address bar, and select Settings.
  2. Under Appearances, make sure “Show Home button” is checked.
  3. Click the “Change” link that appears once the “Show Home button” box is checked.

5. How to Uninstall on Android

Using Device Settings

  1. Navigate to your device’s Settings menu > Apps or Application manager (may vary depending on device)
  2. Scroll through the list of apps to find the one you’d like to uninstall.
  3. Tap on the app you’d like to uninstall.
  4. Tap “Uninstall.”

Using Google Play

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Touch the Play Store icon, and select My Apps.
  3. Look through the list of your apps, and select the one you want to uninstall.
  4. Tap the Uninstall button (located on the right side of the screen, under the “Open” button.
  5. When asked “Do you want to uninstall this app?” tap “OK” to confirm (or “Cancel” if you change your mind).

6. How to Uninstall on iOS

  1. Go to the home screen, and locate the icon for the application you want to delete.
  2. Touch the icon, and hold until all icons start shaking.
  3. Tap “X” on the icon for the app you want to delete.
  4. Choose “delete” when asked to confirm, or “cancel” if you change your mind.
  5. Press the home button to return to normal and stop the icons shaking.
