Minecraft Player Recreates Every FNAF Character In 8-Bit Style
In a fascinating fan-made crossover, a Minecraft player has recreated every evil animatronic from the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise within Mojang’s survival sandbox. An iconic survival horror series, Five Nights at Freddy’s challenges players to last the night in a haunted pizza restaurant while being terrorized by animatronic monsters. Meanwhile, Mojang’s beloved title gives players the tools to craft any number of builds, such as a massive Minecraft build of Star Wars’ Tatooine, to demonstrate their creativity and ingenuity.

Providing players with a host of unique resources, Minecraft‘s survival sandbox has played host to a countless number of unique creations. The title’s randomly-generated worlds are made up of individual blocks, and each of these blocks possesses unique visual and gameplay properties. In Minecraft’s Survival Mode, players must explore their own custom world and gather resources to survive against a hostile roster of deadly monsters. Meanwhile, Creative Mode grants players the power of flight and invulnerability, as well as access to the game’s entire catalog of blocks, allowing for even more remarkable builds. In-game crossovers are particularly popular, with one player recently building all 151 original Pokémon sprites within Minecraft as an ode to Nintendo’s monster collection franchise.

Combining two beloved gaming franchises, Reddit user Common-Tangelo3850 has built every Five Nights at Freddy’s animatronic using Minecraft’s Creative Mode. Recreated in an 8-bit style, the bloodthirsty lineup begins with the franchise’s titular antagonist Freddy Fazbear and his two classic companions Bonnie and Chica. Just as the FNAF franchise expanded to introduce numerous other vile villains, Common-Tangelo3850’s Minecraft build goes on to include many more animatronics. Ending with animatronics from the franchise’s most recent installment, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, the build successfully fits in the series’ whole pantheon of deadly robots.
While the popular survival horror franchise started out with only four mechanical monsters for players to hold off, Five Nights at Freddy’s has since expanded its roster of furry fiends. As the series’ latest installment, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach introduces many characters that will attempt to brutalize the player throughout the experience. One particularly creepy character is Vanny, a human in a bunny costume who is controlled by the antagonistic Glitchtrap. Punk rock-inspired versions of past foes, referred to as Glamrock Animatronics, are also introduced in the latest entry which dramatically changes the established FNAF formula.
With both gaming series rising to become pop culture staples, Minecraft and Five Nights at Freddy’s make a logical crossover duo. The two franchises are incredibly different in terms of gameplay and aesthetics, but Common-Tangelo3850 has successfully united them using a retro 8-bit blocky style. While the build does not capture the monstrosity of the animatronics, the Minecraft lineup does demonstrate the variety found in the vicious Five Nights at Freddy’s family.
