    Manage supplier relationship, including resolution of capacity and production issues, final price negotiations and long-term sourcing objectives.

    Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for vendor/ factory base including lead time reduction, quick response and supporting the implementation of new technologies

    Ensure samples address desired function, including checking for quality, size, fit and adherence to standards

    To identify issue upfront that may prevent product objectives from being met. Including cost targets, quality standards in construction and materials, ease of manufacture, etc.

    Work with a team of merchandiser, factories and customer to ensure products are developed and produced according to required fit, price and quality.

    Able to identify product needs and identify issues upfront.

    Experience to provide leadership and direction to a team of Merchandisers

    Experience of garment construction techniques

    At least 6 years experience in the apparel field

    Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Industry

    Remains the decision maker and subject matter expert

    Investigates latest developments in components, materials, processes, etc. to determine viability in new products, cost reductions or product improvements,

    Develops capabilities of individuals in engineering team through training, mentoring, and assignment of additional responsibilities,

    Establishes yearly budget numbers, reviews monthly expenses, approves expenditures for supplies, experimental materials, travel, etc.

    Ensures robust new product designs, directs staff in cost reduction projects including design modifications, evaluation of impact on manufacturing and assembly, quality, customers, IP, and PS&L,

    Oversees and encourages the adoption of ABS from an engineering standpoint.

    Establishes budget, develops internal systems and controls, develops engineering staff, evaluates risk/benefit scenarios

    Directs and coordinates all engineering related activities for respective value stream.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a relative field. 

  • Current experience in engineering management. 

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro-E tools and Oracle BOMs. 

  • Proven understanding of light sources, photometrics, and lighting applications. 

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of regulatory codes, international, national and local legislative requirements. 

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and defining priorities. 

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, materials, tooling, and costing.
