Liverpool midfield target makes stance on working with Ten Hag clear as Man Utd ‘express interest’

Man Utd have reportedly joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich this summer.

Gravenberch is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

The midfielder only joined Bayern Munich last summer from Dutch giants Ajax. This move has not gone to plan so far as he has only started once in the Bundesliga this term.

His lack of outings have fuelled talk that he could leave Bayern Munich this summer. He is among the players Liverpool are looking at as they attempt to overhaul their squad before next season.

Liverpool were initially looking to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund but they are now set to use their budget to sign two or three midfielders.

The Reds will have to fight hard to sign Gravenberch though as Arsenal are reportedly also looking at him as a potential alternative to West Ham standout Declan Rice.

Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna has now revealed that Man Utd are the third Premier League club to ‘express interest’ in Gravenberch.

The Netherlands international previously played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax and he ‘would be happy’ to work with United’s head coach again.

Last week, Aouna reported that Gravenberch ‘will be making a decision on his future soon’ but he knows that he ‘wants to play more’. Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal are all set to ‘meet the player’s entourage’.

Over the weekend, a separate report from Christian Falk indicated ‘Liverpool’s interest is an honour for Gravenberch’.

‘There was a meeting with Ryan Gravenberch’s management in Liverpool and in the Netherlands,’ Falk wrote for Caught Offside.

‘So he is aware of Liverpool’s interest, the interest is concrete. I talked with Ryan after the match with Manchester City about his interest and he didn’t want to comment on it. But he had a big smile on his face, so it was clear that the Reds’ interest is an honour for him.

‘He didn’t want to comment, of course, because he has a contract and he’s aware of Hasan Salihamidžić’s plan to keep him.

‘But for sure, he’s not happy with the situation in Munich and he will be also discussing with Thomas Tuchel when they make the squad for next season, which I told you will be in a few weeks, and then they will find a solution for him.

‘Bayern Munich is saying no at the moment, but their position on the matter isn’t set in stone. If you can get money for him, they will think about it and you saw on his face that he would be very keen to be a player of Liverpool.’
