Adding a new offer
If the product you are selling is already available for sale on Amazon.in, all you have to do to list your product is select the product, add the price at which you want to sell the product, and the number of units that you want to sell.
You can add a new offer in the following ways:
Search for your product using Product Name, UPC, EAN or ISBN
(Available on Desktop & Mobile)
Scan Barcode for products with UPC, EAN or ISBN
(Available on the Seller App)
Upload details in bulk using standard and custom upload templates
(available on desktop)
Category Approvals
During the listing process, you will need to provide some additional documents or information for certain categories. They are called gated categories and you can find an indicative list of the same below.

Amazon jargon:
ASIN
ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number and is a 10-character that is generated automatically. It is an alphanumeric identifier that helps with product identification from the catalog. But if you are creating a new listing, your product will automatically be given a new unique ASIN.
Create a new listing detail page
If your product is not available for sale on Amazon.in, you will need to create a new listing, so that customers can find all the relevant information about it. When you list a product on Amazon.in, it automatically generates an ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number).
Here are some of the details required for a new listing:
1.
Title
200 characters max, capitalize the first letter of every word
2.
Images
500 x 500 pixels or 1,000 x 1,000 to increase listing quality as per Amazon Image Guidelines
3.
Variations
Such as different colors, scents, or sizes
4.
Bullet points
Short, descriptive sentences highlighting key features and benefits
5.
Featured offer (“Offer Display”)
The featured offer on a detail page. Customers can either click on “Add to Cart” or “Offer Display”
6.
Other offers
The same product sold by multiple sellers offering a different price, shipping options, etc.

Description
Optimize using keywords to improve listing discoverability
Amazon jargon:
Featured Offer
Offer Display is a white box on the right side of the product detail page where customers can add products for purchase. If more than one seller offers a product, they may compete for the Featured Offer. Sellers must meet performance-based requirements to be eligible for Featured Offer placement. Using services like Fulfillment by Amazon , you can increase your chances of winning the Offer Display.

For products without barcodes
GTIN Exemption
If the product you sell does not have a barcode or a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), you can request a GTIN exemption to sell your products on Amazon.in. Once we have reviewed and approved your application, you will be able to list your products.

If you are the manufacturer and brand owner of the products you are selling, consider enrolling in Amazon Brand Registry – a free service that gives you greater control over product detail pages that use your brand name.
