Our free, family-friendly concert series on the picturesque shore of Lake Raleigh returns on Thursday evenings in April and May of 2023. This collaboration between NC State LIVE and Visit Centennial celebrates the unique voices of North Carolina’s extraordinary music scene.

We’re kicking off the season with modern salsa sounds from Latin big band Orquesta GarDel. In addition to your picnic blankets, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to move to the high-energy rhythms of Latin America.

Bluegrass ambassadors Hank Smith and Pattie Hopkins Kinlaw join forces to create an energetic new “soulgrass” band. Infusing bluegrass with styles like classical and Motown, come hear this uniquely American sound born in NC.

You may have had the pleasure of hearing singer/songwriter Laurelyn Dossett at popular music festivals such as Merlefest or on Prairie Home Companion. She lives and writes in the piedmont, and her Grammy-winning songs reflect the rich stories of the region. Laurelyn will be joined by band members Molly McGinn, J. Scott Hinkle, DaShawn Hickman, Wendy Hickman, and Chaisaray Schenck.

The last time Caique Vidal & Batuque were on our stage you were shaking your hips in your car at our parking lot series in 2021. We’re thrilled to bring Vidal’s soul affirming Afro-Brazilian beats back to you in person where you can join friends and neighbors to dance as the sun sets over the lake!

ABOUT LIVE@Lake Raleigh

Since 2018, NC State LIVE and Visit Centennial have teamed up to present a series of sunset concerts by the beautiful Lake Raleigh. These free outdoor events feature an exhilarating lineup of North Carolina-based musicians.

Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs (and non-perishable food donations for Feed the Pack‘s food pantry) and expect a family-friendly good time. 

Food trucks will be on site beginning at 5pm. Bands will take the stage at 6pm. Free parking.
