Celebrating my one year at KRYSS Network! 🎉

So much has changed since I’ve joined the organization last year. I remembered a month ago, my colleagues asked me if I enjoyed taking ownership of the work I’ve done at KRYSS and my answer was a resounding yes.

Not only were my colleagues supportive of me in my journey as a beginner in activism (trust me when I say many mistakes were made along the way), they also encouraged me to pursue creative means with the organization’s advocacy work and I am so happy that I was given the opportunity and platform to finally work on this idea I’ve had for a while.

A colleague and I have compiled a zine that contains resources on online gender-based violence (OGBV). The zine consists of a comic (which I’ve co-written!!) about a teenage girl facing attacks online after her picture was leaked without her consent, an essay written by a survivor of OGBV on her experience of being mob attacked on Twitter, a poem, empowering collages and many other helpful information such as in-depth details on what online gender-based violence is and whom you can reach out to if you need assistance.

Of course, this zine wouldn’t be complete without the hard labor of so many individuals who have been credited in our acknowledgment section but I really want to give a big shoutout to Dayana, who is the illustrator for our comic and has done such a great job in bringing our story and vision to life.

If you’re interested, you can check the zine out here: https://bit.ly/3vDq74q

I’m open to any comments you may have after reading the zine. This includes the comic storyline, the design layout, artistic direction, content of the zine, and so on. Let me know your thoughts here: https://lnkd.in/gSzFCeRh

The survey is in Malay but feel free to write your feedback in any language you’re comfortable with, and of course, you are free to share the zine on your social media, to your networks or anyone whom you think might benefit from reading this zine (especially the youth!). You can tag KRYSS Network while you’re at it! 🙂
