ABOUT THIS ROLE Audible is searching for an exceptional Senior Economist to join our marketing science team. The Audible marketing science organization works across the business to measure and maximize the value Audible delivers to customers. In this role, there will be a focus on partnering with cross-functional teams across Audible and Amazon to develop causal measurement frameworks that measure the impact of our brand and performance campaigns and customers cohorts in an incremental, long term, full-funnel, actionable way. The Senior Economist will be a key technical leader in a team that includes a large number of scientists, machine learning engineers, researchers and analysts, and will also collaborate closely with scientists across Audible and partner teams at Amazon. ABOUT YOU You have expertise at the intersection of economic theory and applied econometrics, with a keen business acumen and hands-on experience, if possible in marketing-related problems. You can distill exceptionally complex problems to their essence, and find ways to solve them to drive new value for our customers. As Senior Economist you will… Work on counterfactual and causal modeling models to measure the incremental, long term, full-funnel impact of our marketing campaigns and product launches in a rigorous way that raises the bar not only for Audible, but at the Amazon level Work on models that can provide insights on complex interactions between channels and strategies, for example (but not limited to) machine learning attribution, marketing mix modeling, or structural equations models (the latter to model the impact of brand on our bottom line) Work on the design, supervision and measurement of perfectly built random control experiments to help train and validate your models Carve out you own area of high value-adding contributions and research with Audible’s marketing, product and insights leadership team to identify key analytical problems and opportunities fit for economics to tackle Contribute meaningfully to our long-term product, marketing and growth strategy Guide our scientists and engineers to develop and maintain scalable, innovative econometric, data science and machine learning models that deliver actionable insights and results, with major conceptual or empirical contributions of your own Be a regular author of publications at internal science conferences and journals ABOUT AUDIBLE At Audible, we innovate and inspire through the power of voice.
