2. Hover over Accounts & Lists, then click Account.

How to check the balance on a gift card without redeeming
If you’ve purchased a gift card for someone else and want to check the balance, follow the steps below:
1. Find the claim code on the back of the gift card or on your receipt.
2. Go to the Amazon website and log in to your account.
3. Hover over Accounts & Lists, then click Customer Service.

4. Connect with a customer service agent and ask them for the gift card balance. Provide them with the claim code.

How to manually reload your Amazon gift card balance
Manually reloading your balance prevents any automatic card charges. This is a good method if you don’t use this balance too often, or if you only want to buy a specific item.

1. On the Amazon homepage, hover over Account & Lists, then click Account.
2. On the next page, select Gift cards.
3. In the menu bar at the top of the next page, click Reload Your Balance.

5. Click Buy Now.
On mobile
1. Open the Amazon Shopping app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android and log in, if needed.

You can set your balance to auto-reload on a daily to monthly schedule or when you hit a minimum balance of your choice. Sometimes, Amazon offers perks that make reloading your gift card worthwhile, like an $8 bonus for reloading $100 or more.

3. Select Set up Auto-Reload.
