American Girl Cafe Review
If you have been to any of the American Girl Place stores, you know what an amazing experience they are. With the multi levels of shopping, the photo studio, the hair salon for the dolls, and the café, it is a one stop shop for an afternoon of fun.

We make several trips a year to American Girl Place in Chicago, and love discovering new things each time we go.

Recently we had the chance to try out the American Girl Place Café for lunch, and I am so excited to share our experience with you!

If you are considering a trip to American Girl Place anytime soon, you will want to add the café to your list. Here’s why!

The first thing you will notice upon arrival is the lush pink and black color scheme. The café is decked out like a boutique where everything is bright and cheerful.

Upon checking in you will have a hostess waiting to take you to your seat, where you will find your first cafe perk waiting for you. Each napkin is wrapped in a hair bow that your child will get to take home!

Each child is then offered a high chair for her doll, so the doll can join in on the fun, too! And while the high chair is on loan, the dolls are given are small cup and saucer which in most cases the child gets to take home! This always gets my girls so excited.

Once the dolls are settled into their seats, you get the chance to browse the menu. While you browse, your waiter will bring out your warm welcome, which is a small plate of cinnamon rolls.

Oh, you won’t find a pic of them below. The kids gobbled them up before I could even snap a pic! Once your warm welcome is gone, your server will bring out an appetizer tray full of some café favorites.

You can enjoy pretzel bites, fresh vegetables and dip, and even fresh fruit while you decide on your menu choice. I love that the café offers these healthy yet kid friendly starters along with the meal.

Browsing the menu you will notice lots of family favorites. There are plenty of options for children such as mini burgers and hot dogs, as well as adult friendly choices like pasta and salads.

My girls love the fresh fruit smoothies, and I love that the menu offers not just my favorite soft drinks but lemonade, wine, sparkling beverages, and champagne as well!

While you enjoy drinks and appetizers, there are fun conversation starters on the table. These mini strips have fun questions on them to get the table convo going.

The kids love reading these to each other and hearing the various answers. It is also a great way to pass the time while we wait for our food.

For lunch my girls love the chicken strips, while the sampler of mini burgers, hot dogs, and mac and cheese are perfect for me! I can’t help it, they make me feel young again.

I also love the chance to try everything! Each lunch is served with a fun shaped fruit skewer, and food can be catered to special dietary needs as well.

Don’t rush off just yet…dessert is still to come! For dessert you can look forward to a frosted cupcake topped with a cookie, as well as chocolate mousse served in a small flower pot with a flower embellishment.

Our server always invites the girls to take their flower home, which they love! As you can see, these desserts are just as sweet to look at as they are to eat.

The American Girl Café is perfect for an afternoon out with the kids, for parties, special events, or to celebrate a birthday if you wish.

Your server at American Girl Place Café will do everything he or she can to make you feel welcomed, well fed, and happy.

I have always been so impressed with the staff at American Girl Place Café, as they truly enjoy doing what they do and it shows.

The American Girl Café offers brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner options. Prices range from $19-$27 dollars per person (beverages are an additional charge) depending on which seating (brunch, lunch, tea, or dinner) you decide on.

You should make a reservation ahead of time to be sure the café can accommodate you since only certain seating times are available.

If you have any dietary needs, don’t hesitate to let your server know. The cafe can accommodate accordingly!

Reservations can be made by calling the specific location, or you can even make them online at their official American Girl Place website. I have always found the reservation process to be a quick and easy one.

The American Girl Place Café is a fun experience to enjoy with your family and one that my own family truly loves.

It is a place where kids are treated with so much care and consideration, and the menu is diverse and tasty.

Why not consider making a reservation of your own so you can enjoy this experience for yourself?

Consider these tips on how to plan your trip to the American Girl Café, then check it out for yourself. You are sure to have fun, leave full, and create tons of memories!
