What Do You Get With the Apple Music Student Discount?
The Apple Music student discount provides you with all of the same benefits of an individual Apple Music subscription at about half the price. You get access to stream over 70 million songs, including songs from your personal iTunes library, access across all your devices, offline listening, and more. You can also access to Apple TV+, the company’s streaming service, which features original content.

How to Get the Apple Music Student Discount Through iTunes
You can sign up for an Apple Music student plan or convert an existing Apple Music plan to the student discount version at any time. The general process is similar whether you sign up through iTunes on your computer or the Apple Music app on your iOS or Android device, although the specific steps might differ.
Here’s how to get the Apple Music student discount through iTunes:
-
Open iTunes.
-
In the upper left corner, click or tap Music, then click For You in the center menu bar.
-
If prompted, click or tap Continue, then click or tap the trial offer.
If you already have an individual Apple Music account, don’t sign up for a new trial. Instead, sign in as usual and then change your account to a student subscription.
-
If prompted, click or tap Get Started, then select College Student or University Student, and tap or click Verify Eligibility.
-
Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your enrollment. If you have a .edu email from your school, enter it. Otherwise, enter your personal email address and select your school.
If you’ve already used Unidays in the past, provide the requested information until presented with the option to click or tap Already verified with Unidays? and sign in with your Unidays account to speed up the process.
-
Sign in to your school’s portal. After you successfully sign in and verify, you’ll be sent back to iTunes to finish signing up.
In some cases, you’ll have to be connected to your school’s Wi-Fi and also use a .edu email address to successfully access the Apple Music student discount.
-
In iTunes, click or tap the trial offer to start your Apple Music student subscription. Otherwise, click or tap Start Student Membership.
-
If prompted, verify your Apple ID, billing info, and accept the terms and conditions. You’ll then be able to access your new Apple Music account.
Who Is Eligible for the Apple Music Student Discount Through Unidays?
Apple uses Unidays to verify student subscriptions to Apple Music, but Unidays itself sometimes has additional deals. To take advantage of these additional discounts, you need to sign up for a Unidays account.
This process is similar to verifying through Unidays during the Apple Music sign up process, but there is an additional age requirement to use the site.
To use Unidays, you must be:
- At least 16 years old
- Currently enrolled at a college or university
- Able to access to either a .edu email issued by your school or a credit card style student ID from your school
Unidays doesn’t let parents sign up for their children. Students have to sign up for the service on their own, and they have to meet the age and enrollment requirements to do so. That means you can’t take advantage of Unidays discounts if you’re under 16, even if you’re enrolled at a qualifying school.
What Does the Unidays Apple Music Student Discount Get You?
The specific Apple Music student discounts that are available through Unidays differ from time to time. As an example, you may be able to receive three free months of Apple Music before you start paying the regular student price.
To see exactly what discounts are available, you have to sign up for the service and check the Apple Music portal on the Unidays site.
After you sign up for Unidays and verify your enrollment, you can view current offers for Apple Music and a large number of other services and retailers. The Unidays site provides you with the option to generate one-time-use coupon codes, which can be entered during the signup process for a service like Apple Music, or the checkout process at online stores.
