How to Establish an Amazon Account

Go to amazon.com and click “Start Here” near the top of the page.

Enter your email address. Check the box next to “No, I Am a New Customer,” then click “Sign In Using Our Secure Server.”

Type your name and your email address in the appropriate fields. Enter your mobile phone number, if you want. Choose a password, and enter it twice in the appropriate fields. Click “Create Account.”

Browse Amazon to find an item you want to purchase. Click “Add to Shopping Cart.”

Click “Cart” and “Proceed to Checkout” to purchase the item. If prompted, enter your email address and password to sign in.

Enter where you want the item shipped and select a shipping method. The available shipping methods vary depending upon the item you selected and your location.

Enter how you want to pay. You can choose between credit card, debit card, Amazon gift card, Amazon store card or have the money taken directly out of a banking account. You can store your payment choices in your account profile.

Click “Place Your Order.” Amazon will send you an email confirmation and another confirmation when your item ships.
