How to Create an Apple Business ID
Apple Inc., a worldwide technology organization, has a web-based portal for businesses that enables IT administrators of organizations to deploy Apple products and apps to the organization’s employees. The web-portal is the Apple Business Manager, and businesses use it to automate device deployment, distribute content and create business Apple IDs for employees. The following is the procedure for creating an Apple Business ID.

Apple Business Registration
To create an Apple ID for business, a company owner enrolls the business in the Apple Business Manager program. To sign up for Apple Business Manager, provide information such as your organization’s name, D-U-N-S Number, phone number and website. A D-U-N-S Number is a unique nine-digit number that identifies a business; it is assigned and managed by Dun & Bradstreet. If a business does not have an existing D-U-N-S Number, it can obtain a new one. Apple cross-checks the D-U-N-S Number with the D&B database and notifies the business owner if there is a mismatch. The business owner can correct the D-U-N-S Number by contacting D&B and reenroll in the Apple Business Manager program.
Personal Details of Business Owner
In the next step of creating an Apple Business Account, the business owner provides personal details, including first name and last name and work email address. Apple does not accept Gmail or Yahoo Mail personal addresses; it is necessary to have an email address associated with the business. The new Apple Business Account is registered with the given email address of the initial administrator. The business owner should ensure that the email address is not associated with any existing Apple ID or other Apple services.
Details of Verification Contact
According to Apple Support, the verification contact should be a person who has the authority to bind your organization to the terms and conditions of the Apple Business Manager program. The verification contact could be a chief information officer, chief technology officer or director of purchasing. Apple calls the verification contact for confirmation of the enrollment.
The verification contact receives a notification mail when the business is approved. In the notification mail, Apple requests the verification contact to confirm the initial administrator. The verification contact confirms the initial administrator who manages the Apple services on behalf of the business. Upon completing this process, the administrator creates a Managed Apple ID for the administrator and agrees to the Apple Business Manager agreement. The initial administrator is given the authority to set up additional administrators if required.
Apple Business Manager Cost
Organizations don’t pay anything to use the Apple Business Manager portal. However, the organization is expected to purchase Apple devices and subscribe to the Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. Apple MDM is a device management system that the organization uses to deploy devices, enroll users and facilitate collaboration. MDM supports iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, and other devices that run on the iOS or Mac operating system.
