Ecosport 2015-2021 1.5 Ti VCT AT Titanium BSIV Review

The Ford EcoSport 1.5 Ti VCT AT Titanium has a 1.5-litre petrol engine under the hood coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is based on the Titanium trim and is the only automatic variant of the Ecosport currently on sale in the country. It is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi, as of May 12, 2017). It is around Rs 90,000 more expensive than the Ford EcoSport 1.5 Ti VCT which comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The EcoSport is a sub-four meter SUV. It has a wheelbase of 2520mm, ground clearance of 200mm and a boot space of 346 litres. The 1.5-litre engine produces a maximum power of 112PS at 6300 rpm and a peak torque of 140Nm at 4400 rpm.

The EcoSport 1.5 Ti VCT AT Titanium is packed with safety features. Apart from the standard driver and passenger airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), it also has side and curtain airbags. Moreover, it is the only variant of EcoSport to come with electronic stability programme (ESP), traction control system (TCS) and hill-launch assist (HLA).

However, the automatic variant does miss out on a few features compared to its manual counterpart. It doesnâ??t get the touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and rear parking camera. It has an MFD Screen instead. It also has other features like keyless entry, automatic air conditioner, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, multi-information display in the instrument cluster, push-button stop/start and electronically adjustable and foldable outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators.

When we compare it with the top-spec Titanium Plus trim, it lacks features like rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and leather seats.

It primarily competes with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra NuvoSport.
