Five Amazon Must Haves for Every Golfer
All too often, I find myself mulling on Amazon over what things I should have for my bag. I must admit, I probably have everything any golfer would ever need, but in today’s amazing industry, people are always coming up with ideas for new accessories that might be more useful on the course than ever thought before.
Over the past few years, I’ve picked up a few things from Amazon that I don’t know how I ever lived without. Whether is for cleaning grooves around the greens or something to keep me organized and ready in case of an impromptu round, here are the five things I feel every golfer should have in their bag, all bought from Amazon.
While this seemed to me to be something excessive, the $25 gift card I get from relatives every Christmas is always an opportunity for me to try something new. I decided to pull the trigger on this backseat organizer, and there are plenty of options out there that are relatively similar.
Mine was only $30, so I had to pay an additional $5 to get it here. But hey, I couldn’t be happier with it. I keep an extra pair of socks, golf pants, hats, pullovers, and other clothing in mine in case someone calls and wants to hit the range or get a quick 9 holes in.
I also keep some extra tees, my rangefinder, and both pairs of my golf shoes in there as well. It is a logical thing to have for any golfer, and I suggest filling it up with your extra things just to stay ready. You never know when a round of golf might pop into your plans unexpectedly.
I was pretty skeptical of this thing when I first saw it. I thought it would leak. I thought it would be a cheap piece of junk. I thought it was useless. I have to be honest, when I don’t have it, I miss it.
I have become a pretty avid supporter of the “Clean Grooves Matter” movement. It makes me sick when I play with friends, and their grooves are filled with caked-up dirt and mud, and they do nothing about it. Ironically, these are the same people that complain when their ball doesn’t spin on the greens.
The Caddy Splash is one of the best things I’ve ever put on my bag. I have tried anything to keep my groves clean, I used to even carry around a Gatorade squirt bottle and pair it with a plain ol’ club brush. This is the best of both worlds.
A three-pack of these bad boys will run you next to nothing, maybe $8. It fits in your pocket, has a groove tool, and has both wire and soft brushes for cleaning grooves or getting rid of loose dirt.
I gave two to friends and kept one for myself. When I carry my putter and wedge onto a green, I tend to clean the grooves while others are lining up their putts or doing whatever they are doing. It comes in handy when you just want to get it done that minute.
I found the Arnold Palmer Edition PopTop Mini Speaker, and I went with it because the one divot tool I have managed not to lose over the years is also an Arnold Palmer-themed piece. I have an attachment to that divot tool, and I felt like it was just ideal to go with the speaker that matched the King himself.
This thing is small, and you can get it for as little as $30, maybe less by the time you read this. It has five hours of battery life, and the sound is impressively loud. I was truly skeptical and bought it on a whim after I moved out and left my Bose SoundLink Mini 2 for my Mom.
This thing has been such a surprise. I cannot tell you how much I recommend it. It’s waterproof, it can be paired with a second PopTop Mini, even though one is loud enough for your foursome on the course. It also has a bottle opener on the back, in case you don’t have one already, and a cool, durable, and magnetic ball marker.
This is another thing that I felt would just keep me organized but wasn’t something I thought would stay in the bag forever. But here I am, nearly a year later, and it’s never left my golf bag. It has a nice golf glove holder, which I feel actually keeps them useable for longer. It’s a pain to get the glove onto the makeshift fingers, but once you get it there, it’s not all that bad.
My favorite part, however, is the tee, ball marker, and divot tool storage. Remember that Arnold Palmer divot tool I talked about earlier? This thing is a big reason I haven’t lost that yet. I also have a few ball markers from the BMW Championship last year that stick to the magnets inside of this thing.
It also has a nice pouch, in which I keep my iRange magnet, as well as some other necessities. Sometimes I will keep my Swiss Army Knife in there for whatever reason I might need it. Usually, that’s a good thing to have during scrambles.
This thing is worth it, 100%, and I highly recommend it. It’s great for keeping gloves and other necessities that you’ll need during the round. When I pull my bag out of my trunk, I usually grab this thing first, so I can take out my glove, divot tool, and ball marker and put them in my pockets.
