FNAF Security Breach Ruin DLC: Story, Characters, & Price
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is receiving a DLC called Ruin. It’s rare for an entry in the FNAF franchise to leave players with more answers than questions, and in that theme, Ruin could set up the next storyline for the games. Steel Wool Studios will be revealing more information about Ruin soon as a teaser for the DLC was leaked during a website update, although the website was adjusted shortly after to remove this leak. As short and small as the leak was, it gave players a lot to speculate about since FNAF theorists are used to finding as much information as possible when given small hints to work with.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach has a different play style compared to most of its predecessors. Players take the role of Gregory, a boy who’s been trapped inside Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex overnight, and he finds that there are several mysteries hiding there. The ending of Security Breach depends on the player’s actions throughout the game, but it seems like Gregory’s story isn’t over with one night at Freddy Fazbear’s since the Ruin DLC is coming, and he is featured in multiple security monitors in the teaser image.
FNAF: Security Breach Ruin DLC’s Story
There hasn’t been a lot of information given about the story for Ruin, but Sheeprampage on YouTube posted a video that takes a look at the many recent updates and news pieces that have been released on the upcoming DLC. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach was about helping Gregory survive and escape Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex, and the teaser image for Ruin makes it look like Gregory will be at the center of the story once more. This time it looks like a young girl will be heading into the ruins of the Pizzaplex to help Gregory, who appears on monitors, one of which has the text “Help me” written on the bottom.
There are a few lore reveals for the FNAF series that Ruin could bring, such as who revived Freddy Fazbear by starting a new company, despite the negative reputation the previous company gained due to William Afton. Given the monitors with Gregory’s face on them, it could be that Glitchtrap will be at the center of Ruin’s story since it’s mentioned in Security Breach, but not eradicated during the game, nor does it make many appearances outside of mentions. However, aside from speculation and predictions for Ruin’s story based on FNAF books, the only parts that seem certain regarding the DLC are the young girl being the main character and that her journey into the Pizzaplex focuses on helping Gregory.
FNAF: Security Breach Ruin DLC Characters
While the protagonist of FNAF: Security Breach Ruin DLC is suspected to be the young girl shown in the teaser image, it isn’t certain which characters players can expect to see in Ruin aside from Gregory since Steel Wool Studios hasn’t been forthcoming with details. As vague as the identity of the protagonist is, the question of who will fill the role of antagonist has even fewer hints. As well as Glitchtrap, there’s also Burntrap, Afton’s latest form, who could start another generation of terrors and bad publicity for the newest iteration of the Fazbear company.
Keeping with the theme of FNAF, animatronics will certainly make an appearance in Ruin. Security Breach featured Glamrock versions of familiar characters like Freddy, Chica, and a hidden Bonnie, but the teaser image for the DLC shows only broken pieces of Glamrock animatronics. Additionally, Glamrock Freddy’s fate depends on which Security Breach ending the player achieves. In past titles, there are variations of the same animatronics that have different names, like Scrap Baby being a crudely pieced together version of Circus Baby. With this pattern, it wouldn’t be surprising if there are new animatronics, or new versions of old animatronics, that show up in Ruin.
FNAF: Security Breach Ruin DLC Price
FNAF: Security Breach Ruin is an added update to the base game, so the DLC itself is free for players who own Security Breach. This means that the total cost to be able to play the Ruin DLC is the $39.99 USD price tag that’s on FNAF: Security Breach. However, even though the DLC is free, players suspect that Ruin will be a sizable update given the small amount of information that’s been leaked. Considering the leaked website included a test for embedding videos, the size of the update does seem large if it’ll receive animated teaser videos similar to Security Breach as players suspect might be the case.
FNAF: Security Breach Ruin doesn’t have an official release date, but it seems likely that it will release during 2023. There were dates that could be found on the leaked website, and those dates were April 6th and April 13th. April 6th did bring with it news about the FNAF franchise, however, it was the reveal of the first teaser for the upcoming FNAF movie instead of information about Ruin. While it’s possible that the news given on April 13th is about Ruin, it isn’t a guarantee, and it’s unlikely that it would be as large of a reveal as a release date since it took so long for Steel Wool Studios to announce the date for Security Breach.
Some players are hoping that Ruin fixes FNAF: Security Breach’s problems, but as the first AAA title in the franchise and the first game that lets the player roam instead of being confined to set locations and paths, it might not be surprising that the game received mixed reviews. Despite the new style, Security Breach features the same air of mystery that is a staple of the franchise, and it leaves players with plenty of pieces to speculate about in order to fill in missing pieces of the story. In true FNAF style, players have more questions than answers when it comes to information about the upcoming free DLC Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach Ruin.
