What’s New On The 2022 BMW X8?
Via: BMW
Design-wise, the BMW’s new X8 model doesn’t bear a resemblance to its closest siblings, mainly the X6. Unlike most initial assumptions, the BMW X8 gains a completely new look and identity. To set the new SUV apart from the rest of the established fleet, the BMW X8 has a sharp nose design. This results in a high-class front shape with a stunning and bold finish. Another unique amendment is the broader shoulder line. On the rear end, the BMW X8 gets a square-edged roofline, but lower than the one on the X7. This retains cabin and cargo space, unlike the fully slanted roofline styles on the X4 and X6 models.
The November 2021 preview proved it to be a fancier and more luxurious piece of machinery. From our viewpoint, the BMW X8 is certainly the perfect SUV for anyone who is on the hunt for an SUV on the high-end in terms of luxury, performance, and an attention-grabbing design.

Engine And Performance

The new BMW X8 has the most robust and all-reigning motor selections, including petrol configurations and hybrid plug-ins. The standard engine on the 2022 BMW X8 is the 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine. This makes up to 200-hp and a total of 737 lb-ft of torque. Unlike its siblings, the BMW X8 also gets a plug-in hybrid element, which makes it a desirable addition to the market. Another newest feature of the BMW X8 is the inclusion of BMW’s remarkable platform.
According to the brand, the new X8 rides on the new Clar modular BMW (Cluster architecture) platform. It now shares this platform with the X7, along with a few wider mechanicals and internal systems. Among many other things, the newest platform will support both Rear-and all-wheel-drive systems. That said, the BMW X8 inhabits the switchable system of the M8 and M5 models. This allows the driver to change to a rear-wheel-drive when necessary.
It also supports hybrids applications. But unlike other hybrids in the market right now, the BMW X8 M is not expected to be a tree-embraced fuel-sipper. The X8 borrows the fifth-generation electric motor technology from the brand’s Pure iNext crossover. So, in terms of its performance, BMW only intends to deliver the best with the new X8. Since it features a plug-in hybrid component, the BMW X8 will dramatically reduce average emissions. You should expect a CO2 rating of under 100g/km as a courtesy of the plug-in hybrid factor.
