Café Amazon expands in Vietnam
14th branch launched in Ho Chi Minh City
Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, the Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Ty Chirathivat, Chief Financial Officer, Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited, Mr. Nath Vongphanich, President of CRG, together with Mr. Racha Uthaichan, Senior Executive Vice President, Global Business, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), Ms. Nittaya Tumrongrajniti, Vice President, Cafe Amazon Strategy and Marketing Department, OR and Mr. Niti Kittisatien, General Director, ORC Coffee Passion Group Joint Stock Company, or ORCG, jointly celebrated the latest launch of Café Amazon HAI Ba Trung in Ho Chi Minh City, the 14th branch of Café Amazon in Vietnam. This milestone is another important step and testament to the cooperation, determination and dedication in operating Café Amazon’s business in Vietnam.
“As the coffee market in Vietnam is growing rapidly and continuously, OR and CRG,” noted Mr. Racha. “Seeing the opportunity, Café Amazon, a company affiliated with the Central Group joined forces in 2019 to establish ORC Coffee Passion Group Joint Stock Company, or ORCG, and launched its first Café Amazon in 2020.”
Currently, there are 14 Café Amazon outlets in Vietnam of which 10 are in Ho Chi Minh City and the rest in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, My Tho and other places. The target is to reach 20 branches by 2022.
“OR hopes that, with its experience and expertise in the coffee business promoting the growth potential of Café Amazon, combined with CRG’s expertise in restaurant branding and service management, Café Amazon will continue to enjoy a warm welcome from Vietnamese consumers,” Mr Racha continued.
“This will lead to opportunities for stable and sustainable growth,” he said. “Moreover, OR will continue to strengthen and never stop developing Café Amazon to cater best-in-class beverages and service to coffee lovers in Vietnam, all consistent with OR’s mission to scale its portfolio to the global market.”
