Apple Pencil (1st Generation) – MK0C2AM/A for sale online | eBay

B+ – blows almost every other style out of the water

Personally, I have no product with the rounded shape that some people complain about. The charging CAN be clunky if you charge it off the iPad itself, but I have always used the lightning female-to-female adapter as it’s faster and it means I can still use the iPad itself. It’s light, comfortable to hold (to me), easy to use and, in my estimation, has no competition aside from the Surface Pen. This is just not any old iPad stylus – this is the first stylus I’ve ever been able to naturally write and draw with on a tablet. The are only two drawbacks I’ve found. Firstly, I haven’t found any cases that fit the current models of iPad that use the 1st gen Pencil (iPad Air 2 [2019 edtion], iPad, or iPad Mini [5th gen, which I currently have]), so I end up storing my Pencil literally in my pencil case (having formerly had the 1.5 gen iPad Pro with a case with a built-in storage loop, the current arrangement is a bit annoying). I’m sure this will change, though. Secondly, I am a “screen protector” type of guy, and using the Pencil with my first iPad Pro – that also had a glass Zagg screen protector – there was a definite, substantive difference between using the Pencil directly on an iPad screen and on the protector-covered screen. It wasn’t the end of the world for me, but I’m not a power user by any means and so it was something I adapted to pretty easily.
Overall, I give the product a B+; I formerly gave it an A (rounded up for being Apple’s first attempt). Honestly, unless you’re going to be really going hard on your Pencil use – which, if you are, probably means you’re using the newest iPad Pro, anyway – the 1st gen Pencil is still the gen pop industry standard in my view.
