Apple Martin Reacts to Her Mother Gwyneth Paltrow’s Confessions About Her Famous Ex-Lovers

Gwyneth Paltrow is many things. Actor. Entrepreneur. Friend. Vendor of tinctures and powders. A woman who is just asking questions. She’s also a mother of two, Apple and Moses, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Chris Martin.

The latter is a role Paltrow clearly relished, and it seems like she has a very Gilmore Girls relationship with her daughter. They seem like pals! No better evidence of this exists than the fact that Apple accompanied Paltrow to a taping of Call Her Daddy on Monday, where host Alex Cooper and Paltrow discussed, among many things, who was better at you know, Brad Pitt or Ben Affleck (both good, Paltrow said, but with an important distinction: She had “major chemistry” with one and the other was “technically excellent”). 

By Thursday, Cooper posted an Instagram of Apple, who was in the studio for all this and more. In the video, Apple covers her ears and shakes her head as the audio plays, “Oh, no, no, no.” 

“When your mom goes on Call Her Daddy,” the script reads.

During the taping, even Paltrow laughed and said, “I can’t believe my daughter is listening to this!” 

This is the woman who sells a candle titled This Smells Like My Vagina, vibrators, and also a jade egg that goes up there despite settling a lawsuit over said egg. Paltrow is obviously no shrinking violet, no blushing rose. She talks about sex pretty regularly in interviews. Her children have had many opportunities to make peace with her frankness on the topic, though perhaps that peace flies out the window when confronted in person by specifics of one’s mother’s sex life.
