Blend up an Apple Banana Smoothie and enjoy every fruity sip of this icy treat! Apples and bananas are blended to the best smooth consistency with ingredients like yogurt, rolled oats, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg. This is a delicious and filling smoothie that’s great as a morning treat or a midday snack!

Does anyone else remember that apples and bananas song that helps kids learn their vowels? Well, we remember it, and we agree – we do love to eat apples and bananas!

If you have any extras on hand after you make this smoothie, use them deliciously with recipes like Banana Oatmeal Muffins and Apple Chips.

Apple Banana Smoothie

Apple Banana Smoothies offer the best of both worlds. They’re sweet and refreshing from the fruits, but the cinnamon and nutmeg give them a warm spiced quality as well.

The warmth is subtle, but it really makes a huge difference in how pronounced the fruity flavors are! Yogurt creates the best silky consistency and also helps to make the smoothie a bit more protein packed and filling.

Oh, and I can’t forget about the oats! There’s just enough oats in the mix to go hand in hand with the yogurt when it comes to keeping you nice and full after sipping on this Apple Banana Smoothie.

How to Make an Apple Banana Smoothie

  1. Add all the ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into 2 glasses, and sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  3. Enjoy immediately.

Tips and Variations:

  • Use your favorite plain or vanilla yogurt. A mild flavored yogurt works best, but Greek yogurt will work in a pinch.
  • If you want an extra touch of sweetness, add a drizzle of honey or pure maple syrup into the mix.
  • Red apples like Honeycrisp, Gala, or Red Delicious are preferred since they lend a naturally sweet flavor to the smoothie that best compliments the banana and spices.
  • Feel like having a little fall flavored fun?! Add a sprinkle of apple pie spice to the smoothie instead of the cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s essentially the same thing, but it also has allspice to really bring that fall flavor home.
  • Feel free to add some protein powder to make this smoothie even more filling.
