Apple Authorized Service Provider

An Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) is a company, organization, university, or college that has been licensed by Apple to provide repair or upgrade service for supported products with certified parts, tools, training, service guides, diagnostics and resources. Parts resellers and distributors are not eligible to become a provider.

History

Authorized service providers were once a primary means of obtaining local repairs for Apple products. This role has largely been overtaken by Apple retail stores since 2001. However, some independent businesses and retail chains, such as Best Buy, are authorized to provide service for customers in areas where Apple products are marketed, but an Apple Store may not be conveniently located.[1]
